Just resurrecting this thread as I received my Uefa cup final tickets (from the ballot) in the post last night.

Of course, if Liverpool fail to overcome Atleti on Thursday night, we (me and Mrs B) have to decide if it's worth the expense just to watch the game as neutrals, or whether to sell the tickets on. It's not the cost of the accommodation so much as the cost of the flights as every Fulham/Liverpool fan seems to have been making advance bookings since the 'Round of 16' and the prices of direct flights to Hamburg or Hannover are now fairly high, even staying on an extra day and flying back on Friday.

Anyway - more Hamburg tips welcomed - nice restaurants and bars away from the Reeperbahn fanzone especially.....

Since I'll be there during the World Cup. How do I ask "Where's a good place to watch the football?" auf Deutsch. I can't recall how to conjugate with whatever form it is that includes "where should I" or "where could I."

This is obviously Saint Pauli heavy, but should be useful for others going.

Just put on a loud cockney accent and start singing "There's only one Bomber Harris". Someone will point you in the right direction.

I don't really trust them for critical translation issues and besides, what fun would that be?

So I'll be staying here. It appears to be a very Americanized hotel.

Any recommendations for places to watch football in that area?

I'm currently trying to find a U Bahn Map.

I just landed in Stockholm. Thanks for the advice on the express train. I'm on it now and it is indeed very fast.
