It also means Boro remain 55th on the list, above Man City, Besiktas and Standard Liege, and only four places behind Celtic.

Now I sure as hell haven't been a Fulham fan all of my life, in fact I only became one a little over four years ago. But after witnessing 2 final-day escapes under Lawrie Sanchez (who's dark days I also sadly witnessed) and Roy Hodgson, seeing them beat Juventus was just amazing. Once the final whistle blew I started to get teary eyed.

The game was shown live on TV here, a six pm kick off in the UK meant I missed the first 25 minutes but from what I saw there was only going to be one winner, well played Fulham and Roy Hodgson, let's hope the draw is kind and they can have a run to the final. The ground and atmosphere took me back to the old nights of European football.

So let me get this straight. This was a 6pm kick-off?

Fuck fuck fuck fuckity fuck!

Stunned me as well.
I thought it was a 6:00 kick off but at 4:30ish when I saw the their team coach crawl past Kensington High St tube I assumed Id got it wrong.
What time did they arrive at Craven Cottage? Has this been used as an excuse?

A load of Juve fans were getting very excited but I didnt recognise a single player. Just a load of dark haired kids on a bus wearing sunglasses, baseball hats and earphones.
My mate reckoned the AC Milan bus would contain a load of middle-aged blokes wearing bifocals, toupees and hearing aids.

Has anyone got a link to that goal? Or, indeed, the higlights in general? I too was caught out by the kick off time.

The only bit of UEFA football I saw last night was Aguero's second goal, which was a real doozy, surprised nobody has mentioned it yet.

The Bremen-Valencia game was wildly entertaining, neither team seemed too fussed about defending and were just piling forward at every opportunity. It could easily have finished 8-8. Villa took his hat-trick in the customary excellent fashion.

Amazing result for Fulham. To think that 2 seasons ago they stayed up above Reading on goal difference. It was anyone else I would hate them but somehow I can't. Also worth pointing out that their European campaign started in July. Uncle Roy for manager of the season? I've only seen Dempsey's goal once but it looked like he was trying to cross that... Who was that keeper for Juve though? Uncle Fester's older and less agile brother?

Sergio Aguero scored 2 good goals for Atletico, the second one in particular was a peach.

ITV4 are showing highlights from all the games tonight, I think at 7pm, for the likes of Harry & Jon. Would have thought they'll put them up on itv.com too, all the CL and Fa Cup highlights were up there too.

Type "Dempsey Juventus" into YouTube and it's the top result.

Last night, I thought, fuck it, 'we (me and him) are going out' rather than watch the football.

I am watching the Liverpool game now, and they looked ok, better than Lille, and thats fine. Kuyt looks like a good signing for Arsenal (another thread, discuss).

I saw the Fulham stuff on Five's website, and still dont believe it... they went a goal behind, and won?

Fucking hell. IRS (insert serial number, nod to SR) etc. It really is.

Well, Fulham in 'playing superbly well' shocker.

Cannavaro going off gave them the game?

Not sure if Dempsey meant that... mainly because I dont know if he has previous.

DAMN, that should hurt the 'old lady', and occasionally, thats good enough for me.

If you go on the Europa League website, you have the chance to watch Dempsey's wonder-goal only if you stump up £1.99. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I think he did mean it because of his body language straight after kicking it. He kind of relaxes and steps back with a sort of "let's see if that worked" air about him.

But then, I am always prepared to give the benefit of the doubt for moments of audacity like that.
