Alex Manninger in goal as Buffon is still out, could he be the weakest link?

Meanwhile sighting of Dempsey has casued quite a stir

Please send me a PM if you can help purchasing a ticket for the return leg on 18th March

Manninger has (bar the very odd rick) stepped in ably for Buffon for long periods in the past two seasons. Though he was pretty wobbly last week.

Defensively, the absence of Chiellini is more important. It will be interesting to see how ambitious Fulham are. Juve are pretty much there for the taking at the back even with Chiellini and Buffon. Sissoko is also a doubt, although the brilliant Camo and Marchisio are in contention after injuries.

I have a feeling Fulham will pay this Juve more respect than it deserves and Roy and the lads will want to kick themselves later on tonight at a missed opportunity.

I am looking forward to the game and to see Bobby Z up against Juve is going to be quite a thrill.

I suspect Channel 5 have agreed only to broadcast Liverpool's games have they? Shame, as i'd much rather see Fulham in Europe and don't have access to ITV 4.

You might get lucky, and it will be available on itv.com although that website is not the most up to date thing ever. Good reception of last nights game though.

I think Channel 5 get first pick of the games. They'll always choose to show Liverpool as long as they're in as they'll get a much higher viewing figure than Fulham. And that's all that counts for them to sell their adverts. I will be watching the Fulham game but I fear, as mentioned above, that they will be cautious and it won't make for an interesting game.

Hamburg v Anderlecht is on now on ITV.com followed by Juve v Fulham on the same link.

(I suspect for UK viewers only)

Which is unfortunate, as it appears to be a good game.

Van Nistelrooy put HSV 2-0 up, only for Anderlecht to pull one pack in first half injury time. 2-1 at the half. Lille and Liverpool (and Atleti-Sporting) are scoreless and Rubin Kazaz is 1-0 up against Wolfsburg in the other early games.

Lille have gone up 1-0 with five minutes left to play.

Gee, what happened to the last "big club" that lost the first leg 1-0 in France?

Goodness me, since when did Juve play music after scoring a goal? Times may be hard but...

Oh well, doesn't quell my elation.

The shot could be written off as a fluke, but Juventus were playing it around beautifully for ages before the shot, waiting for it to open up.

ITV dishing up some good entertainment tonight, a lovely strike. Have Juventus got any players under 30?

Candreva is 23 and Marchiso 24, but I think that may be it for the starters. Normally Chiellini (25) would also be starting, but he pulled a muscle against the Viola.

Juve have some excellent young players: Candreva, Giovinco, De Ceglie, Marchisio...shame only one of them gets a regular starting berth.
