I'm looking for a somewhat more positive result than, say, ManU 7-1 Roma.

Actually it wouldn't entirely shock me if Milan went a shock 2-0 up early on, thus setting up history's most predictable ever ultimate failure to hold off their opponents for the remainder of the game. Less shocking than that of course would be going 2-0 down early on, leaving the commentators with a real challenge on their hands.

As a gentle corrective to PPV's less than apt thread title:

with the caption "Returning Hero", is how soccernet are headlining today's tie.

Are they implying there that David Beckham is actually a young Alex Ferguson who will eventually travel back in time to coach himself?

My step-brother is a camera-man for this. Currently refusing to wear Gold & Green while filming (something about being an employee or somesuch, but I know he wants to).

This gold and green thing, is there going to be a lot of that tonight? Will the telecasters mention it at all?

There will be loads of it. Most of it will miss the point by a larger margin than an Inzaghi offside decision. It won't get mentioned much on telly.

Very often, Inzaghi is only just offside.

And other times not so. But for the sake of semantic forensics let's say "miss the point by a larger margin than a season's worth of accumulated Inzaghi offside decisions".

I hope you don't mean this season's accumulation, because he's barely gotten any minutes.

In the group stages of the Champions League, he was caught offside more times than any other player. Fachhht.

Yeah, he's had to double his work rate, what with not getting as many minutes.

The camera pans along the crowd. Three people in green and gold scarves are visible. They're wearing them wrapped around their AIG Nike Manchester United shirts. Point missed.

Bonera with Thiago silva in the middle. They've hardly played together. We're dead.
