To be fair to these protesters, they've obviously learnt that taking their concerns to the streets is the only way to get anything accomplished. I mean, they - and, presumably their parents before them - have obviously been successfully campaigning against education spending for a long time.

They call it 'spelling Nazi' for a reason you know. Our founding fathers freely used f's where we would write an s.

The weird thing about this shit (well, one of the weird things) is the way so many of these anti-elitist types have the opinion that health care is something that has to be earned, and should be reserved for those that are economically successful. Wtf?

Maybe they see it as Darwinism for the wealthy, if you're not rich and sucessful enough to afford healthcare then this is natures way of weeding you out, so the hospitals are not cluttered up with poor folk, and leaving all the more drugs and healthcare for middle class white America. Is it possible that the biggest fear is the thought of having to wait in line behind Blacks, Hispanics and other minorities?

This may be a stereotype, but I didn't think many of these guys believed in evolution.

I agree with the rest of what you said though.

Haha, you say it as a joke, but it's actually true. These are generally the same people that campaign against the teaching of evolution in schools, constantly try to inject Christianity into the curriculum, and resist any efforts to impose national standards onto U.S. schools. They love to vilify universities, too. (Except for their college football programs.)

For some recent anti-education activism here in my benighted home state of Texas (on the part of right-wing members of the State Board of Education, no less!), read this.

Trivia question: which is (probably, but I'm willing to be corrected) the only worldwide pop hit single to contain the word 'imbecile'?

I'm also not sure if it's actually the only such hit, but as OTF's resident Men Without Hats fan, well, obviously it's The Safety Dance.

Well, either I've been banned from posting, or for some reason the board is no longer accepting posts with images in!

Apologies for the previous blank post, in other words.
