With Sevilla's first televised friendly on at the moment, I thought it time to introduce an 'official' thread, without the Real Madrid-centric stuff...

After 20 minutes against Juventus at a fairly deserted La Cartuja in the Peace Cup, not too much has happened, though both teams are giving it a good go. Zokora is already looking an improvement on Romaric. Cannavaro gives off an air of much more authority in a Juve shirt than he ever did at RMad... Ooh and Aruna 'Ice Cream' Kone just fails to connect with a Renato cross...

Bad sign that, Amauri scoring at the exact moment I pressed submit on the previous post...

I'll be going to the Barcelona-Galaxy friendly next Saturday night. Absolutely devastated that I'll never see Eto'o in blaugrana.

A bit of a disappointing exit for Sevilla from the Peace Cup, after a frustrating 0-0 against Seongnam in front of a nearly empty RSP. Chevantón was lively at least. Still, only preseason and all that.

Let's see what RMad get up to against Al-Ittihad.

Not much, drawing 1-1, so they'll have to beat Liga de Quito on Tuesday to progress. They started off in fairly lively fashion, but it was all a bit scattered, and it all fizzled out. Al-Ittihad even found time to squander two one-on-one chances in front of Dudek.

I was considering going to the Emirates cup next weekend where Atleti are competing against Arsenal, PSG & Rangers. However, Atleti lost 1-0 on Saturday, to Sunderland and tickets with any semblance of a good view are £35 upwards. I know you get two games for that price, but I don't want to watch two games in an afternoon.

Villareal won their first pre-season friendly 27-0. Pereira scored 7.

International thrills aplenty at the Nova Creu Alta, with Swansea playing Nastic - they lost on penalties in front of their travelling hordes (quite a few Welsh flags in evidence; not sure if you can pick them out on that link). Then, sadly, Paulo Sousa's boys proceeded to defeat Sabadell's weakened XI in the second 45 minutes. That's the moon, not a UFO.

Stretching the definition of 'fútbol español', but Aston Villa take the lead against Porto in the Peace Cup semi-final in Málaga. Good gallop down the right by whoever, and a nice finish by Heskey.

Well, 2-0 after Sidwell prods home following a mixup from a corner. Porto don't look up to much - some nice touches in midfield, but a bit powderpuff...

Heskey takes the 'Peace Cup' theme to heart by slapping a Porto player in the face to get sent off. All of this following Ashley Young not kicking the ball out of play whilst a Porto player was writhing on the floor on front of him, presumably needing treatment. Peace, man.

I'm tuning in presently for Los Galacticos vs. Old Ladies. I'm assuming Kaka isn't around yet (?). And Diego pulled a muscle, which was pretty inconsiderate of him.

Hulk pulled one back with a penalty that would have taken Guzan's head off if he'd stood still, but Villa win 2-1. Unspectacular from Villa, disappointing from Porto.

Kaká, Sergio Ramos and Casillas still not back for RMad...

Juve look pretty decent. Going to be interesting to see who tops Serie A this year (them or Inter).

The corner that produced that goal was owed to some dazzling play by Giovinco. Del Piero's delivery was inch perfect, so he's still quite the weapon.

Lodz/Bruno,

God, lads, what are you doing even thinking about football at this time of year? Be sensible and get back to the beach/terraza (no pun intended).
