Speaking of Uncharted, apparently the voice actor for Shadow Complex is the same (excellent) guy who did Nathan Drake.

I'm still playing Fallout 3 on the XBox, probably waaaaay more than is actually healthy. After a slow start it's become as addictive as crack, and potentially more relationship-threatening

fallout 3, pure gaming heroin

I have been up until 5 trying to destroy those mutants at the police station, kill the leader of those vampires under the metro station as his coat is worth a lot, and trying to find my way to riket city to no avail. whilst also wanting to redecorate my house

I had to stop playing it a few weeks ago as it was doing me no good, when i finally was sleeping i was thinking constantly of what i could do in the game

My Playstation is starting to collect dust as I have discovered the weird and wonderful world of emulators.

I recently downloaded MAME and now have over 100 titles of arcade goodness. I even bought a joypad for my laptop to fuel my new found addiction. Its fantastic. Last night I spent over three hours on Darius Gaiden.

Today I got hold of the Megadrive, SNES and Amiga emulators and currently have Sensible Soccer running in another window. Pure class...

I recently found a PSX emulator. Any chance of pointing me in the direction of where I can find some games for this? All I have at the moment, are the Crash Bandilegs series, which I finished years back.

I'd rather not link directly as it's, well, illegal. And most PSX games are readily available on Amazon or eBay or even PSN. But you can find them in the same places you can find other illegal content on the internet.

I wasn't saying linking would be illegal. I just didn't really want to facilitate illegal behaviour so directly, especially as you can buy them easily and legally for bugger all money, unlike vintage arcade cabinets. I bought the PS1 version of NBA Jam for £1 the other month.

I've been playing some older games on the old Wii as of late.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl - Mario versus Sonic versus Solid Snake? Yes, please. Lots of characters, lots of music and packed with nostalgic goodness.

Super Mario Strikers Charged - Sepp is probably playing this and looking for ideas as we speak.

Wii Sports - Bloody hell, my arms are ready to fall off after a few rounds of boxing.

And on the Virtual Console...

Super Mario Brothers - It's a classic, and always good for a few minutes play at the least.

Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars - Ace shooting game, despite the furry protagonists.

Shining Force II - My first, and favourite, console RPG.

I cheated at Fallout 3. Built up my speech skill to the degree I could talk most people into anything (even if it meant a few well-timed saved game reloads).

Then I heard about the hat cheat (you can equip multiple hats). Best way to do it is to get two hockey masks and keep equipping them (a quick Google will give you the details). Currently laughing with a +1,000 melee attack, and combined with the Chinese stealth armour you pick up at the end of the Anchorage DLC pack it makes the game, well, a little easier.

Even when I wasn't cheating it was a quality game, mind. Probably my single favourite Xbox 360 game (just edging out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare).

That's not cheating. It's one way of playing the game.

Anyway, I can confirm that Shadow Complex is fucking awesome. It's arguably the best XBLA game I've played. Only Braid comes close.

GY, I'm SniperWolf2 on Relic. You've got me on Steam already.

I laughed when I saw the PS3 "slim". 2/3 the size sounds right, it's hardly slim though. It's basically the size a console should be.

If they finally get round to releasing a decent game for it, I might actually buy it.

Dude, there's a ton of decent games for PS3. Besides the multi-platform titles, the following are all awesome:

Retail:
Uncharted
Little Big Planet
Valkyria Chronicles
Ratchet and Clank Future
Infamous
Motorstorm 1 and 2

PSN:
Wipeout HD
Pixeljunk Monsters and Eden
Flower
Everyday Shooter
Super Stardust HD

These are games that either I haven't played or aren't to my taste, but other people rave about them:

Metal Gear Solid 4
Siren: Blood Curse
Killzone 2

Over the next year, it will have:

God of War III
Heavy Rain
MAG
Gran Turismo 5
Last Guardian (possibly)

They all leave me cold. I was being a bit annoying,
reading my post back. I came over all fanboy. But none of those games seem worth getting a PS3 for.

Infamous and LBP are of interest. But not enough interest.

I've realised the fault is with me, probably, rather than the PS3. I'm sure Ratchett and Clank is great, but I wouldn't drag my mates home from the pub to play it.

It is indeed Rick, it's scary at times. What platform are you on?

Oh, and not to give too much away - it's more or less pointless (at that point in the game anyway, I'm guessing you're not much more than Lv 10 at most) to take on the Family. They're too hard, and too good at fighting, to take down at present. Try to work with them instead - there's a pretty good perk waiting at the end if you play your cards right.

As for Crusoe - I always save before a speech challenge. Maybe it's "cheating" but if it gets you the result you want.....?

Anyway, I've now completed the main quest and have all but exhausted Broken Steel with a Lv29 character- taking up over 120 hours of my life. I have enough points on account for another 2 downloads (before I top up again) so it's a choice between Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.

The Mrs is going to love me.

Trials HD on XBL - As addictive as crack (but not half as much fun)

So simple even your bird will have a go. Half the fun will be watching her crash, endlessly....

So I hear Shadow Complex is set in an Orson Scott Card world.

I'm led to believe he is a "notorious homophobe", and is in support of proposition 8.

I hear there is talk of a boycott of the game, because of his involvement.

I'm hedging my bets about this, because I have only one source. And it's not known for its journalistic integrity.

I hadn't heard about the Card connection at all, and it's certainly not prominent in the game itself. I'll check to see if he's included in the credits when I get home.

GayGamer is a fairly well respected site in the gaming journalism world, so I'm willing to take their word for it. And their advice is pretty decent:I think if you're obviously too disgusted to enjoy the game, avoid it, and speak out. However, if you want to play the game, play it. Enjoy it, but offset the hate: if you buy Shadow Complex, donate $5, $10, $15 if you can spare it to a gay charity. Let them know why you're giving the money. Card won't get nearly that much per game

Yeah, GTA: CW is great, seconded.

Interesting, GY. I might do as GayGamer suggests.
