I don't think Everton being designated as the "home" team will make much of a difference in terms of a kit clash as Melbourne Heart will be wearing red and white stripes, no?

As for the the game at AAMI Park, I for one applaud the choice of opponent, as it means less testimonial cash for one of the most violent, unpleasant, shitbags I've ever seen play football (and I watched Darren Bullock play regularly in the 90s).

Any news on when the fixtures are likely to be released for next season? The Sydney Morning Herald reported last week that Sydney will start at home to Melbourne Victory, but I'm not sure how they know this.

You're getting confused, BDG - it was Kevin Muscat's testimonial.

It's been leaked that Sydney v Melbourne Victory is in round 1. This is a big mistake - Melbourne Heart should host Sydney in round 1. One thing they have got right, though, is that the first Melbourne derby will be the week after the AFL grand final to give it a weekend free of competition and with a decent chance of some media coverage.

If the rumours about 5 midweek games are true on top of Victory's 5 games at Etihad then my membership is unlikely to be renewed.

well i did follow victory, and had a membership for three years. But when I renewed last season's membership, despite the club taking my money they didn't actually renew my membership. numerous phone calls to the club about this didn't resolve anything so I missed out on a membership plus my money. I didn't understand what was going on. i was pretty pissed off with the club and decided that I won't be giving them anymore of my money. So naturally I'll be going for Heart in the new season.

MA will be ecstatic......

"United coach Miron Bleiberg praised the Victory's swift response to his inquiry about Moss"

Couldn't get rid of him quick enough, more like.

Melbourne Victory "shot stopper" - when did that happen?

By the way, Willie, there's a 2010-11 thread up and running now.
