I immediately think of Wembley 1972 when I look at that kit.

Not a good thought, either.

I think it's a shame. I know you purists need it to be green but that last Germany change kit was absolutely superb. This one is just ...meh.

I approve too. It's possibly a nod to Gdansk fans when the Germans will be staying, as our team plays in gree too. I know that Germany's away kit has been green for ages but a nod nonetheless.

Maybe if it was a little darker, that shade's just at the very edge of the red-green spectrum.

They're unlikely to wear it in the summer unless they get Poland in the second round.

Magik -- don't be ridiculous. Poland have the beating of Greece and the Czech Republic, even if Russia give them a good hiding.

There's nobody as good as the Dortmund trio in either the Greek or Czech squads.

It's not Wembley 1972, it's Mexico City 1986:

Are Germany planning to lose the final of Euro 2012 as well?

On such a thread, this shirt ought to be included. However, I have a question: do Ireland have the sponsor's logo on the shirt in matches? Where does the player's number, which is normally also on the front, go?

Or do they just sell them with the sponsor on but the team play without it?

They only have the sponsor on the front of jerseys for sale, but the player number is generally on the back of the shirt.

Cheers DR - obviously I know about the big number on the back, but international shirts often have a small front number too:

(Under the Umbro logo clearly seems to be an option anyway!)

The pic of Alex O-C wearing England's number 11 shirt is chosen in hope, by the way.

I will say that I don't need the Germany away kit to be green. I think it's better that it is, but some of the green kits have been crap, and some of the non-green ones alright (like the last one). This kit is particularly nice though.

If they took the squad number off the front it would be better.

it would have been better without the horizontal turf-like striping too. This shirt is really cool though, not so much because of the color but because of the simple classic styling, which adidas hasn't done much of. Most of their current shirt designs have been bad to horrible.
