To be honest, the coverage was slightly better than I thought. It was second on most TV news last night.

I haven't seen the red tops this morning but it had already slipped down to third on Radio 4, presumably because they had a made a couple of arrests (although none that seemed to be the kidnappers)

Front page in the Guardian, page 5 in the Independent and now down to fourth on BBC website. Page 19 in the Telegraph but what adds insult to injury is that it is World fucking News! He's a British boy.

Sorry if I come over obsessed with this sort of thing but it infuriates me.

Sahil Saeed has been kidnapped for 12 days and he won't get a tenth of the press coverage that David Beckham's bloody leg will get unless the Mail can try and pin it on his family.

I'm reminded of that old joke about Bush and Blair plotting to kill a million Muslims and six computer programmers...
Sarkozy asks, "Why six computer programmers?"
Bush turns to Blair: "See, I told you no-one would care about a million Muslims."

first I've heard of this... after a bit of a Google I'm having trouble deciding whether I think it was the father who arranged this in order to get back at the mother, or the mother to keep him safe from his father.

Tut, tut.

Daily Mail and Daily Express, I assume, Hugh?

Anyway, he is free and all over the news again.

Mind you, allow me some final cynicism, he was found at 5.30 this morning GMT so he has a whole day to be knocked off tomorrow's front pages by Beckham's foot
