Anyone can meet anyone.

I expect this has been covered before but what a bunch of arse that they draw the semi-finals at the same time as the quarter-finals.

Yep. Why fuck up the possibilities of ... whatever?

I hope Arsenal get Inter, and I hope Fulham get Standard Liege... and I hope that Valencia continue to be on TV. (In UK)

bunch of arse

why?

if you travel with your team you can book 2 (or even 3) travels at one time. i mean if you are optimistic concerning your team's chances to go through.

But Bob you would have to guess which team gets through the other tie as well, no? For example, for an Arsenal fan, if Arsenal draw Inter in the QF and their potential SF is against the winner of Bordeaux v CSKA, then you can't arrange anything until you know the result of Bordeaux-CSKA anyway, even if you think Arsenal will get through.

Fuck's sake. Arsenal v Barca.
Also: Inter v CSKA
Bayern v Man Utd
Lyon v Bordeaux

SFs: Arsenal/Barca v Inter/CSKA
Bayern/Man Utd v Lyon/Bordeaux

You'd have to fancy a repeat of last year's finalists. Barca retaining the trophy at the Bernabeu would be amusing.

oh, and am I the only one to see Liverpool v Valencia, in that order?

Senor Benitez: here's what you could have won: (insert David Villa, outstripping everyone... or a speedboat)

A repeat of last year's final looks quite likely, doesn't it?

Not a bad draw. At least the French teams getting drawn together means that one of them will get to the semis, which is great (and hopefully it will be Bordeaux).

And at least Bayern and Man Utd getting drawn together means that only one of them can reach the semis. I really hope Bayern win, but if Man Utd do (and I'd make them strong favourites) then at least they've knocked out Bayern.

You'd think Barcelona should beat Arsenal over two legs, and I think the Inter-CSKA tie could be the tightest of the lot.

Assuming they get past CSKA, I'd strongly fancy the chances of Mourinho's Inter against either of their potential semi-final opponents.

Really ? I think Inter should win that one. I reckon the all French tie is the closest to call and I think Man United will beat Bayern Munich easily.

Barca, Inter, Man United and Lyon for me.

Inter didn't exactly impress against Rubin. But yeah, I think I'd go with those four, though I think Arsenal have more chance than most seem to think.

if Lyon can repeat what they did in the second half in Bernabeu they will go through but i'm not discoverning America here.

of course you're right Kid A. but in my situation (OL follower) booking flights to Munich and Manchester or whereabouts now wouldn't be totally unreasonable, would it?

hmm, bordeaux seem to be a much better team than lyon. They're a much more consistent, better drilled unit. People are giving lyon a lot of credit for beating real madrid. This happens every year, but it's just that they usually immediately get knocked out.

I've never thought before that I have to cross all available fingers for United.

Come on boys, give the beast the battering it deserves!

I'm going with Lyon for the greater experience they have in this competition which I think brings substantial value.
