Harry and Ursus, sorry. What happened was, I was on Twitter and someone put a link up to the story on Goal.com (surprise!), which I clicked on and as I was reading it, it got mentioned on MOTD2 as well.

In my haste to get the thread up before any of the other baying hoards wanting to start it, I copied down Goal.com's wording. I know, I should've known better. I shall change it forthwith.

Let's be honest, y'know, we're all missing, y'know, the bigger picturer here. Whatever, y'know, your views of England, and, y'know, regardless of whether you're a paid up, y'know, member of englandfans or the AEB, this is terrible, y'know, terrible news.

Because we all know, y'know, that Beckham is now going to be ITV's big name, y'know, pundit for the, y'know, finals.

Aaaargh!

Oh bloody hell he is isn't he (sorry Phoebe, I missed your post in my eagerness to correct the wrong Harry and Ursus had pointed out).

Thank fuck I'm going to be following the tournament from a different hemisphere.

Apart from it being ABE, Phoebe is right. The horrible truth is that it could be worse.

We may be in luck - apparently Capello is going to offer him a place in the back-room staff.

Only this will be worse and lead to endless fucking cutaways won't it? Like when Roma are on the telly and Totti is injured.

Christ, it'll be like France 1998 and Susana Werner.

Bored - elsewhere it may be ABE, but the Anti-England Brigade on OTF is long established.

Hmmm... news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts_and_culture/8570282.stm

Poet Laureate writes a poem about the great ones tendons.

She's a better poet than speaker, and I'm not sure I like the poem much.

Susana Werner has been married to Julio Cesar (the Inter and Brazil keeper) for eight or nine years, and seems to be a very well-adjusted person given what she went through Ronaldo and the general "WAG" culture.

They did name their first kid "Cauet" though, which is more than a bit strange (unless there is some family reason, rather than a hommage to the meh French midfielder Benoit.)
