Yes, remember that I'm just 14 points shy in second place. I'm breathing down your neck.

Napoli-Fiorentina 1 (2-1)
Lazio-Bari X
Udinese-Palermo 2
Bologna-Sampdoria 1
Milan-Chievo X (1-1)

So now we've lost Nesta for the rest of the season apparently. Could this put his World Cup into further doubt???

He's already said repeatedly that he considers his national team career to be over, but this certainly puts an end to any speculation as far as South Africa is concerned.

Well, the thing is that a lot of the media (and apparently Lippi) were still hoping for a Damascene conversion.

It's hard not to think that this may mark the end of his career at the top level, which would be a real shame.

I like to think Nesta realizes Italy are pants now and doesn't want to put in the effort for a round of 16 elimination.

Inter are about to lose in Catania.

Up 1-0 via Milito, they saw Catania equalise through Maxi Lopez before the match turned in two minutes after Muntari came on for Cambiasso. After having received a yellow within a minute of stepping on the field, Muntari then handled a shot in the area and was sent off, with Mascara converting the penalty with a "Panenka". Catania then got a third at the death.

Milan will be within one point of the top if they manage to beat Chievo on Sunday night.

Genoa - Cagliari was 4-2 at half-time. Juve were 3 up after ten minutes against Siena. Now 3-2 in the 46th minute. Is this the Serie A that dalliance knew and loved?

Get in! 3-3 Siena. Also 3-3 at Livorno, where Pizarro penalty miss looks crucial. 5-3 at Genoa, Palermo now 3-1 down at Udinese.

Seedorf wins it for Milan with a brilliant rocket into the top corner in injury time after Beckham goes off on a stretcher with an ankle injury.

Milan now trail Inter by only one point, and the goal that Chievo had ruled out for offside in the first half will keep Mourinho's paranoid fires burning as he prepares for the match against Chelsea.
