I know i am in a minority of one, but i stuck cracked rear view in my cars cd player the other. its still brilliant

forget the way it was picked up by white middle class/ friends/ c**ts. its a great album. 50 million Americans can't be wrong (hmmm)

'drowning' standing out still, moaning about the rebel flag still hanging above the state house in alabama

yes I am biased, they are a SC band and I went to college in SC. as stated on here many times, I used to know darius (the black lead singer) before they became massive (well, before they were formed). whilst they are a Columbia (USC) band he is from charleston. he was part of a group i used to meet up with in charleson, go downtown and watch a few bands. so long ago i had a fake ID. I didn't even know his name, sure i was told it. he was alright.

since then he has done a burger king commercial which is bad, but he did use my FAV amercian word 'jonesing'

If anybody else on OTF is bound to like them, it's probably me. And I don't, never did. Though I did like that "Let Her Cry" song.

They are the kind group I am totally indifferent about. They tend to be mentioned in the same breath as Dave Matthews Band. But that isn't fair, even though I always do it myself. The Dave Matthews Band I would like to administer vooheesian violence upon. They really are utter shit.

Dave Matthews is better than Hootie. He's just a better song writer. Neither are great, but there was a period in college when I, like just about every other white college student in the mid-atlantic states, found them both very listenable in a boring sort of way.

But then we all got over it. I recall in 1997 I was in graduate school and my friends were going to see Hootie in concert at some outdoor ampitheater of something similarly non-rocknroll and I just couldn't imagine that being even remotely entertaining.

I always felt a bit bad about that. Darius always seemed like a really nice guy and they seemed so unobtrusive.

The only virtue I can credit it them with is releasing I Go Blind as the follow-up to their mega-platinum trans-galactic #1 hit. In doing so they filled the bank accounts of local Vancouver rockers 54-40, who wrote it and I'm sure spent the cash well and wisely.

Danny Baker was a huge fan, as I recall. And he had them on his TV show claiming, without the slightest hint of irony, (well, it appeared that way) that their first TV appearance on British TV would go down in the annals of history, something akin to The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

I own 54-40's greatest hits. I've honestly no idea why.

Is it a single, or an EP?
