And now I can't move out without leaving her in the lurch, so I'm just stuck with the situation.
People have to find new flatmates all the time. And I'm afraid the only way to deal with being in love with someone you can't have is to get the hell away from them, sharpish.
It does sound rubbish. Is it one of those situations where the boyfriend is also a really great bloke and it would be terrible for you to mess up their relationship in any way?
blameless, actually the real complicating factor is that she can't really find someone else suitable because she's supposed to be moving to London to be with her bloke, when she can find a job there. So I'm in the invidious position of hoping that either they split up, or hurry up and move in together so I can get on with my life!
Liquidator, thankfully I've never heard them shagging (bedsprings a couple of times, but that could be something else) otherwise I think I probably wouldn't be able to handle it. Plus I get the satisfaction of assuming from not hearing anything that he's probably rubbish.
DSS, actually he's a nice guy, but he's a bit boring. Better than any of her exes, but she deserves better.
Oh man, find a new place to live immediately. Don't worry about inconveniencing her. You could be hanging around there for another year if you don't act now.
