Two weeks ago we Bangor Fans had a charming time in Denmark;

we met an exiled Cardiff fan in Arhus who ran a quiz (which he fixed for us), beat their fans during an impromptu match outside the ground, outsang 4000 fans with 60 (sort of), shared hugs with smelly home fans and generally made a lot of friends.

During the last fortnight acquaintances were renewed over the world wide web and as a consequence about a dozen of us will be guests in the away end tomorrow night at Man City.

In such cynical times as these it's beautiful to discover that football can still bring people together, aaaaaaaaaaaahhh.

I think Liquidator had a similar experience recently as recorded in the 'THFC' thread.

I have had similar warm and snug experiences with supporters of Dundee Utd, Glasgow Rangers and Bohemians (not all at the same time). All were at pre-season friendly time when the nutters aren't around.

Last time I was in Belfast I went to a Glentoran vs TNS friendly. Went to the bar afterwards and got chatting to the locals, ended up getting a lift to the airport from the woman who ran the bar.

Friends of mine who've been on pre-season tours to Scandinavia have had similar experiences to Kowalski. At one game two of them wearing replica shirts had to fend off autograph hunters who were convinced they were players. At another match a friend challenged a home fan who'd shouted something racist and found himself being backed up by an angry Jan Aage Fjortoft, manager or assistant (can't remember which) of the home team.
