A thread of convenience for me to post my occasional bulletins about Barry Town's slow crawl back towards the top, and anyone else who gives a monkey's about the Welsh pyramid.

BTFC have hopefully answered the question in the thread title with "Third tier, and no lower". We're now back up to the second tier (Welsh League Div 1), and one promotion away from the glorious golden dreamland of the League Of Wales.

I don't expect we'll do it at the first attempt, although beating a 'Swansea City XI' 2-1, as we did today (not a great day for the Swans all round, eh) is a vaguely positive sign. On the downside, the club is up for sale yet again, and an unofficial fans' forum reports "sale price halved to £250,000".

I'm hoping to catch a couple of games in the flesh either side of Christmas, if I can drag Mrs Rhino to Jenner Park (and Croesyceiliog, oh the glamour).

Aye.

There's another Croesyceiliog in Dyfed, but I'm pretty sure this is the Cwmbran one.

"Gives a monkey's" is an interesting one, isn't it. A Monkey's what? And why a monkey's one of them, as opposed to a rabbit's, or a squirrel's?

A monkey's 'toss', isn't it? I suppose given their propensity for it ...

Hang on, are you serious? Have they scrapped that one too? Or are you being all old-skool Pembrokeshire?

Cos I know the county I was born in no longer exists, but I didn't know they'd extended that lunacy throughout Wales.

It's actually the Dyfed-Powys police force. It covers the largest policing area in England and Wales.

I'm probably a sad bastard for knowing that particularly useless piece of information.

what kind of level is all this? I mean, where would Newport County fit in, if they decided to be proper Welsh?

Cardiff City & Wales I've always thought Forest Whitaker would do well. As I get older I am returning to the Custard Cream 3 Bits of Fry & Laurie - The Complete Scripts Jaded Axe Attack Location: East Molesey - it's paradise Birthdate: 1968-12-11

I imagine they'd win it comfortably, if they kept their current players.

Good win today, TonTon.

I'm not so sure about the comfortably bit, on the basis of today's showing. But yeah, Newport would be in the Premier, and in the top 3 or 4 at least.
