80 million to Chelsea isn't what it is to everyone else so Kaka is worth it from their point of view. Even if they are serious about financial self sufficiency, the deadline can always be put back a year or two for exceptional circumstances like these.

If Milan use the money as well as Juve did when they sold Zidane (Buffon, Thuram and Nedved at least) it'll be worth it for them, too.

A player's fitness, form, commitment etc is too precarious to turn down 80 million for a giant club out of the CL and in need of some funds , so I read, even w/o selling Kaka.

It's all a bit rich for my palate though.

So Milan have said Kaka is staying and Chelsea have said that they haven't put a bid in. Where on earth did the Guardian get this story?

On ESPN the story was described as "Kaka's agent talks up Chelsea move." My question is why would he do that if it weren't going to happen.

...I suppose one plausible explanation is that Kaka is unhappy with the Ronaldinho transfer.

Or the agent wants to unsettle his client and get 20 per cent of an 80 million fee, or secure him a pay raise to get close to whatever Goofy is on and get his cut from that.

Kaka is being paid more than Ronaldinho (it would be an absolute outrage if that wasn't the case).

So anyways, it looks like Chelsea weren't after all insane enough to offer 150 million euros and Milan weren't insane enough to turn it down.

£80 million is a touch over €100 million. somebody needs to update their currency converter.
