They may well scare the horses, though.

Take a look at the title banner of the town's official website.

You try and help a guy out with his holidays and all you get is grief round here. I imagine we're playing those teams because they'll be on the same level as most of the Premier league and it'll be good practice for us, as for it not being a beauty spot it does beggar the question - have you ever visited Govan? Plus I hope they aren't going for the sightseeing but you never know these days. As for you Hofzinger that remark has meant we've cancelled the orphanage we planned to build and we'll just raise the place now out of badness, and it'll be all your fault.

Actually, you support Rangers and all you get is grief around here . . .

But I see your point, and I've been to Govan. I just like to think that Rangers are a "bigger" club than that; it helps me in getting over Fiorentina losing in the semifinal and all that.

BTW, Schalke has been doing some remodelling as well:

Dean Bowditch begins his last-chance-saloon season with a goal. He'll still be on loan at a Division 3 club near you before the end of September.

Heh. I'm still mystified how Bowditch got an extra year, while Billy Clarke ended up on the transfer list.

Swindon drew 2-2 with Steaua this evening. Town were two up at half time, but Steaua equalized with a free kick in the last minute. I know it was only a friendly, but I'm still quite impressed. Fenerbahce await on Saturday. I'd be tempted to go along and call Arragones a racist shit, but it's being played in Austria and I've already said I'll go to a barbecue in Tulse Hill.

Our centenary match against Arsenal on the 6th of August is on Setanta Sports.

Shame I cancelled my subscription and would never re-subscribe to that bunch of lying, money-grabbing bastards.

Edit: way to break the new OTF, Ursus. I thought images were supposed to appear in a scrolly frame if they were too wide?

So suddenly central Manchester's a beauty spot?!

I doubt I'll make it to any pre-season games, unless there's one happening in Havana whilst I'm there. And that would surprise me (aside from anything else even if it was happening, I'd need to be able to find out about it somehow...).

Let's hope for a more entertaining game on Saturday, Merlin. How did Tom Winters play, by the way?

GO, they do appear in a scrolly frame in Firefox, but not in IE.

I'll edit it anyway.

Does a 1-0 win in a practise match divided into 3 30 min periods against Wrexham count?

Otherwise we have to wait until 19th July away at Stafford.

Burnley managed to lose 2-1 to Carolina Railhawks under 23's last night in North Carolina. Someone named Wade Elliott scored for Burnley.
