I do but its either that or Dunfermline, Cowden, East Fife....Raith....the less said about those options the better.

Signing Davis if he's as good as he was last season, and having Beasley and Mendes, you know this could finally be Rangers year

Celtic have re-signed Maloney from Villa, not sure if he'll get much game time mind you.

Maloney's a great little player, I reckon. I'd hope that Strachan will give him plenty of playing time.

And Evander Sno has gone to Ajax for a reported fee of £1 million.

A good day's trading all round for Celtic.

Maloney was Celtic's best player and creative kingpin in 05/06 before he got his head turned by money. He was a moron to leave the club -- everything was set up perfectly for him there.

We lack creativity in central areas: Robson and Hartley are good players but neither of them possesses a killer pass. All the flair is in the wide positions with McGeady and Nakamura. So this will redress the balance a little bit.

Sno is no loss, he contributed nothing apart from one good game against Benfica two years ago.

I hope he gets some playing time ahead of Scott Manson Brown,

I'm sorry to see him go. A good squad player. He did pretty well with limited opportunity and he was popular with the fans. He was Master Beast's favourite player probably since they are about the same size.

Can I just say it is ludicrous that Barry Robson is being fucked around at the moment (shunted out to the right wing v St Mirren, dropped v Dundee United) in order to accommodate Brown.

The guy plays entire games with his head down, not looking at what's happening around him, and his first touch is shocking. Robson, on the other hand, is a real player -- he's got to be put back in the team pronto.

Scott Brown used to be a great player, but he's just turned into a psychopath. Given up on trying to make anything of himself it seems.

He's not even kicking people, particularly, he's just running around like a blue-arsed fly to no real effect.

I hope Strachan doesn't feel the need to keep picking him just because he spent £4.4m on him.

The bizarre thing is that after spending millions on Gravesen, Donati and Brown theres still some expectation from the media that Celtic need to squander millions on an average player before their work in the transfer market is done.

Gravesen's actual transfer fee wasn't huge (£2m), but his wages were the real killer. The less said about Donati, the better.

So far we've bought a centre-back, a striker, a winger, a midfielder and a playmaker. But the most pressing need of all -- a new left-back -- has still not been met. Surely to christ they won't go another season with Naylor as the only recognised LB in the squad?

Sorry to see Maloney go, but as he said himself, he wasn't commited to the club.

His performance in the 4-4 away at Chelsea last year will be the highlight of his time at Villa - excellent first half he had there, causing the Chelsea defence a lot of problems.

Mentally weak, always moaning about going back to Scotland in his little comfort zone - his attitude basically has ruled him out of being a top player for now, because he has the skill. Oh, and his free kick against Sunderland wasn't bad either.

Killie 1-0 Accies

Well that was as comfortable a 1-0 nil as you're ever likely to see. We bossed the midfield and didn't give Accies a sniff, Alan Combe could've brought a deckchair and a book. That's 3 clean sheets in a row, I can't remember the last time that happened. Manuel Pascali looks the business too, he gives us a physical presence we've really lacked over the last couple of years, plus he can play a bit too. My only concern at the mo' as we don't score enough goals, yet to be convinced by Connor Sammon though its early days.

Good to see Hamilton knocked off their pedestal too. Surely Kilmarnock haven't been this good since Ally McCoist and Iain Durrant turned out for them?

I've also come to believe that Tosh McKinlay is fixing SPL results. His predictions were delivered in such a deadpan lifeless way and seemed so unlikely (Celtic to win 3-0, Rangers and Aberdeen to be 1-1) he must be up to something.

Though Rangers dropped points are being attributed to poor refereeing. He apparently didn't give Rangers a penalty or a dodgy goal.

Problems at Stranraer. Interesting interview with manager Derek Ferguson after their defeat yesterday (lower down this page):

I wish them the best, the predate the modern movement of trusts and things, they're still owned and run as a social club and run by committee. Didn't stop me celebratign when we put an injury-time winner past them, mind.

I've missed a couple of games already this season, been a modest but steady start. Happy with the defence but worried about where the goals are coming from. Very difficult to know what'll happen, it's going to be a really tight scrap in division two, no one will run away with it.

Seen a couple of Dundee's games, good start considering the early season injury crisis. I still make them favourites to go up.
