A Minty Moonbeam Shambles

Don't want to darken AMMS's mood any further, but there are rumours going around that Rangers have to pay Osasuna 20% of the Cuellar fee because of a sell-on clause. Might be total bullshit, or it might not. I'll see if I can verify it.

5 games played, 5 wins - including a 4-2 victory last night over Peterhead, who have always been something of a bogey team for us.

This is going too well. I'm feart.

Apparently Celtic are now attempting to highjack Rangers' attempts to sign Glenn Loovens by making a bid themselves. I say attempting, but I can't imagine Glenn would have too much of a decision to make if it came down to the two of them.

Makes sense, I guess - they could do with another centre-half, and there's nothing like giving your rivals a good kicking when they're down.

With all due respect to Cardiff City, I'd prefer Celtic to be signing their defenders from somewhere other than the Championship.

Mo Camara, Lee Naylor, Adam Virgo and Olivier Tebily didn't exactly work out too well.

The Celtic Loovens hijack rumour has been circulating since we played them in pre-season at least. He's playing as if he's already thinking what colour curtains to have in his Glasgow home, whatever side of it he lives in.

Rangers have signed a young Spanish attacking midfielder called Aaron Esclapez. Anyone know anything about him?

Meanwhile, Celtic appear to be signing a defender by the name of Alexander Madlung from Wolfsburg.

The Rangers guy stirred some interest in the Pais Vasco/ Euskadi. Esclapez to Vitoria.

Eveyone set for Wednesday's derby?

PS Sir Healy to Cardiff? Admittedly, this rumour is from the Bellylaugh quoting Ridsdae, so possibly a Lord Lucan return is more likely.

Depends. Both squads look pretty strong right now, but the 22 who take to the hallowed turf next week will depend to a large extent on weekend injuries (both genuine and bullshit).

Rangers are linked with McFadden, Loovens, Davis, Bresciano and some Irish guy called Chris Turner as well as the Aaron guy in today's papers. Clearly with only the Olympics, and imminent European war happening just now the Scottish press have nothing else to write about.
I don't think we can afford McFadden, if Celtic want Loovens they can have him at that money, Bresciano wants to play in England, I'd like Davis but again the fee is prohibitive so I guess it'll be the unknown Bohemian for us then.

Without wanting to sound condescending I thought Barr being in the squad was a fair pat on he back to Falkirk and everyone involved there.

I'll predict a 5-4 victory to the mother country with Boyd and Healy sharing all the goals and exchanging flute tunes at half-time. Either that or 1-0 between 2 reserve sides and a crowd struggling to get into 5 figures.

Madlung has played for the German national team, whatever that tells you these days. He didn't stand a chance at Wolfsburg since they signed Tasotti, Maldini, Costacurta and Baresi.

Yep, looks like it. Wolfsburg seemingly refused to lower their £4 million valuation of Madlung.

Pedro Mendes looks like he's on his way from Portsmouth to Rangers, and he's just the sort of player they need. They've been linked with Bresciano again too, but I'll believe that one when I see it.
