It appears you are wrong, and that no less a luminary than Giles Clarke has stated it's a "win-win" situation.
As much as it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, I csn't really say I'm that surprised that this, or something like it, has been the outcome of this; it's difficult to think of any other scenario that wouldn't hve introduced an immediate, and deep schism in World cricket.
