I'm finally about to start copying my vinyl and tapes onto my Mac. I bought a Griffin iMic, patched it into the MD/Aux output connections on my amplifier and lo and behold it actually works! But the recorded sound could be better. I discovered that turning off the equalizer pre-sets on my amp was a good idea — got rid of the overwhelming bass, but the sound is still kind of fuzzy so any help in that regard would be appreciated. For instance should I turn off the Dolby too (I'd guess "Yes")

iMic comes with software called Final Vinyl, which seems to work OK but it's extremely basic. Every change has to be saved individually, played back and the file reopened to make further changes. Garage Band is standard on Macs but I've done nothing with it except edit a few MP3 files. Any tips would be appreciated.
Please note, although no boardcode buttons are shown, they are still useable
