Cardiff City & Wales I've always thought Forest Whitaker would do well. As I get older I am returning to the Custard Cream 3 Bits of Fry & Laurie - The Complete Scripts Jaded Axe Attack Location: East Molesey - it's paradise Birthdate: 1968-12-11

Wouldn't most Welsh people want the Welsh flag to not be included in an overall British flag? I'm not being funny here - I thought they mostly want to be as independent as possible. I haven't taken a poll, obviously ...although I'm about to poll one or two opinions on the matter, of course.

Secondly (and I'm not toadying, here) the Welsh flag is nice anyway - why compromise it? It'd be a bugger to work into the union flag anyway!

Sadly, I think most Welsh people would happily have the country represented in the Union flag. When it has been discussed, incorporating the St David's Cross has been suggested ;

The Rainbow flag is the Inca flag. In Peru, that is.

Sorry to be a pedant, but it's the Quechua flag, since Quechua is the ethnic group for the wider collection of Andean peoples, of which the Inca empire was a part, but not all (it's also the flag of Cusco).

(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

With the Union Jack, I never got why they didn't centralise the diagonal red cross within the diagonal white one. Is there a reason?

It was done so the flag could be inverted to indicate mourning. If St Patrick's cross was centred then it would look exactly the same.

Isn't this one...

...one of those inverted-colour images that look right if you stare at it for thirty seconds then look at a white wall?

Nah - it's the one where a fuzzy black dot appears in the middle when you lose focus on it.

I think you get the Finnish colors if you stare at that flag, white for black and blue for yellow.

The flag of the city of Montreal would have worked really well for an English pub featuring the Five Nations tournament (it even upholds the tradition of leaving Wales out):

Yeah, wouldn't want anyone to know there was any mourning going on.

I've always liked California's for its blatant Soviet overtones:
