Good grief. I didn't realise the WP stats included people searching from the address bar.

The other odd one I've had was that last year there was a seven month period during which my site got found every day by someone searching for 'Sergio Romero'.

For those who don't know, he's a (now) 19-year-old goalkeeper who was signed last summer by AZ Alkmaar from Racing, for whom he'd made one first team appearance at the time.

When I say 'every day', I'm not exaggerating - I mean quite literally that for the entire time, there was not one single day when I didn't get a minimum of one hit (it was normally ten or more page views) from that search. I'd published, at the time, one story mentioning him, when the signing was first announced in about April or May of last year. I was still getting traffic for it way into November.

Does his registration happen to be in the hands of an agent or one of those "consortia"? I can see them having a flunky do that kind of search for every player in their "stable".
