TOPIC: US Women's Open - greatest ever rookies' event?

US Women's Open won by a 19-year-old rookie, 23-year-old finishes 3rd in her first ever tournament as a professional

After a decade when the women's game has been dominated by Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb, and latterly (for the last year or so) by Lorena Ochoa, this championship (the biggest and most important in the game) was extraordinary. Has there ever been any other major sporting event, ever, where a field of all the world's best and most experienced competitors was decimated by a couple of under-25 rookies?
Please note, although no boardcode buttons are shown, they are still useable
