School's out for summer! Exams are over, holidays are here, and on SATURDAY 5th JULY it's time for the annual STAY BEAUTIFUL SUMMER PARTY. Full details (live band, DJs, prize giveaway, watering can song etc) to be announced soon, but if you've been to one before, you'll already know the score: the same glam-electro-alternative goodness you already associate with SB, with extra songs with 'sun' and 'summer' and 'beach' and 'surf' and 'holiday' in the title or lyric. You are encouraged to wear sunglasses, and/or any other summer-related attire you feel is appropriate... so wax up your surfboard, slap on the factor 1,000 and get ready to party!



[b]*LIVE ONSTAGE: THE DOGBONES!*[/B]
Our live band this month are THE DOGBONES ( http://www.myspace.com/thedogbonesuk ), who are a supergroup/side-project/whatever comprising Nomi (Queen Adreena), Vince Johnson (Daisy Chainsaw), Crispin Gray (Queen Adreena and Daisy Chainsaw) and Bambi (Selfish C*nt). Their dark voodoo-rock sound is influenced by The Stooges, The Cramps, Nirvana and T. Rex. Doesn't sound like a summer party band? Well, we're perverse like that. And we know they're gonna rock your socks off anyway.



[b]*THIS MONTH... AND FOREVER: DAVID RYDER PRANGLEY!*[/B]
Our guest DJ this month is, once again, the ever-amazing DAVID RYDER PRANGLEY ( http://www.myspace.com/davidryderprangleyandthewitches ), and we have an exciting announcement to make on that score. Since Davina's departure, and in Tony's extended absence, we needed a little help, and there's no finer candidate for the task than the ex-Rachel Stamp man. From now on, David is an official permanent member of the Stay Beautiful team. When he isn't ruling the door with a rod (or clipboard) of iron, he'll be rocking the turntables, or just generally being the perfect glamorous host. Woo-hoo!



*WIN HELOISE AND THE SAVOIR FAIRE ALBUMS!*
Stay Beautiful regulars who came along in April will remember the awesome performance-art extravaganza from HELOISE AND THE SAVOIR FAIRE[/B]
( http://www.myspace.com/heloiseandthesavoirfaire ), which was their first-ever UK gig. In case you missed it and you're unaware of them, H&TSF are a New York electro-disco act whose leader used to be PEACHES' bodyguard, and whose debut album TRASH, RATS AND MICROPHONES, released on ELIJAH WOOD's Simian label on JULY 7th, features guest vocals on two tracks from DEBBIE HARRY. As if they weren't well-connected enough already, none other than KYLIE MINOGUE has just picked H&TSF as one of her top friends on her Myspace. And, if you're wondering what all the fuss is about, here's your chance to find out, because we have [B]TEN COPIES of the album to give away to anyone who can answer an easy question on the night...

*CHEAP BOOZE, FREE BOOZE!*
Drinks at the Purple Turtle are, you'll be glad to hear, served at pretty reasonable, pubby prices anyway (certainly compared to one or two of our previous homes). And, to set you on your way towards alcoholic oblivion, the Purple Turtle serves a special JESUS JUICE cocktail exclusively at Stay Beautiful - a delicious and potentially head-fvcking blend of vodka, Archers, cranberry, lemonade and fresh lime - at £8.50 per pitcher ALL NIGHT (a wide variety of other cocktails will be served at a tenner per pitcher). Furthermore, as aficionados of messy vodka-guzzling will be aware, Stay Beautiful has a somewhat notorious tradition called the WATERING CAN SONG...



*I DIDN'T ASK FOR SUNSHINE, AND I GOT WORLD WAR THREE*
...and this month's Watering Can Song, to tie in with the summer theme, is "HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN" by SEX PISTOLS. So, when you hear those marching boots and those crashing guitars, you know it's time to get wet!

*ADMISSION PRICES*
Regular admission prices are as follows. Standard price is £7 (i.e. if you can‘t even be bothered to pick up a flyer, bring some sort of concessionary ID, or wear an SB badge). However, for very early birds, it's just £4 BEFORE 9.30pm, and if you come with a flyer (printable version: http://www.staybeautifulclub.co.uk/eflyer.htm ), NUS/DSS card or a Stay Beautiful badge, it's now just £5 ALL NIGHT!

*WHERE IT'S AT*
Stay Beautiful's current home is the PURPLE TURTLE ( http://www.purpleturtlebar.com ), 61-65 Crowndale Rd NW1 (for directions and transport information, see our 'Info' page: http://www.staybeautifulclub.co.uk/info.htm), just 1 minute's walk from Mornington Crescent tube (and about 5 minutes from Camden Town.

*OPENING HOURS AND AGE POLICY*
Stay Beautiful opens at 9.00pm and closes at 3.00am. Please note that The Purple Turtle is an over-18s venue and ID MAY BE REQUIRED, so if you think you may look underage, please bring one of the following: an NUS card (with a credit card), a passport, or a driving license.
