What are the views of the authorities towards Trust run clubs? Are they "not in the interest of football", or was that just AFC Wimbledon?

QUOTE:
The FA, however, will argue that the club broke its rules and that Newbery, as a secretary, cannot be viewed as a club official.

What the fuck? Do you think it would wash in court if, say, Punch Taverns' company secretary
did something dodgy and tried to claim he wasn't an official? Of course it fucking wouldn't. He'd probably be held in contempt.

GY- Apols if misreading your post.

Newberry was not the Company Secretary. She was the Club Secretary/Admin manager who blew the whistle. The FA are claiming that she was not senior enough to count. So basically they are saying to any club employees don't blow the whistle unless you are a Director. That should clean the game up.

Richard Bagehot is a solicitor and was the Company Secretary for both LTFC and the holding company Jayten. He was fined a whopping £750 for his role. That harsh punishment should deter any future Company Secrataries from not doing their job properly/colluding in rule breaking.

Where would the game be without its wise guardians at Soho Square? Awash in sleaze and incompetence no doubt.

It's bullshit though, Monty. The fact of the matter is that the FA does, in all respects (apart, apparently from this) treat club secretaries as senior staff, responsible for running vast swathes of the day to day running of a football club.

I know 200 you are quite correct. Its a whopping, stinking, duplicitious piece of bullshit by the FA.

Every thing about this is bullshit.

Its bullshit that the FA waited over a year after very publicly interviewing Mike Newell about his allegations to investigate them.

Its bullshit that they waited over 6 months after the "lowly employee" Cherry Newberry made her allegations to investigate them.

Several of the charges Luton are being punished for stem from that period of FA inactivity.

The whole sorry story stinks.

But hey, its not just the whistle blowing employees, the consortium trying to save the club or the long protesting (and long ignored) supporters who the FA have valiantly punished. The FA have saved football for the next 5 years from a retired used-car stooge returning to the game. For that we should all be thankful for their gracious wisdom.
