Will Hill currently calling it thus:

Germany 4/1
Spain 5/1
Italy 13/2
Portugal 7/1
France 8/1
Holland 12/1
Croatia 12/1
Czech Republic 20/1
Russia 22/1
Greece 22/1
Switzerland 25/1
Turkey 40/1
Sweden 40/1
Romania 40/1
Poland 66/1
Austria 100/1
Ultonia 1690/1 (see Spain)

Looks like my SEK 5 on Olof's boys may have gone west, but WH have a faith in Espana I find hard to share. We punters have been let down by them so many times...

PS I thought Romania might show higher?

Italy look the best value, as indeed France and Holland, if any can get out of their group. Which is why Romania are forties.

When did we stop calling Romania, Rumania?

According to the auld Wikipedia, even back in the good old days it was outdated. "Romania" has been official since 1861 and "Rumania", coming from the French "Roumania" has been on the outs ever since.

Romania's more correct anyway, I think. Comes from "Roman" after all.

It was always an Anglo/US difference as well; "we" always used "Romania", which is what they themselves use:

As to the odds, I would be interested in seeing what one could get against either Italy or France making it out of the group.

*pedant* the French is "Roumanie"

We all get the stress wrong on Romania though. It ought to be RomuhnEEa, not pronounced to rhyme with Kleptomania

I've heard them (Czechia) play in the last week. They beat everyone's favourite non-qualifier quite comfortably.

Wasn't that effectively Scotland B or C, though? It wasn't the Czechs' first team, either.

I would say that Switzerland are much better value than the Czechs.

My Sunday League team did a reserve side this year and this really crap player offered to manage them, so he'd be guaranteed a game every week.

That's kind of what Austria have done here, isn't it?

That's an absolutely rubbish price on Germany. I was gonna pop in the bookies later to back them, but might have to reassess. Just can't bring myself to back Italy, France or - having sworn off them - Spain.

benzema to win top goalscorer and france to win is 100/1

seems very good to me or am i being seduced by domenech's history of surprising everyone?
