I understand (I think) why the points penalty was as it was- basically as a lobbied compromise against administrative relegations in two successive seasons, and thus spending this term in Division 4. But I don't see how that makes Forest and Donny better.

They are better because they scored more points. If Leeds were not to start on -15 then they would start on 0 in League 2.

Either way Forest and Doncaster would finish above Leeds.

Thats the benefit of not having a chairman trying to buy a football club on the cheap, and trying to cheat people and companies out of money.

When considering that one of the main creditors is HMRC (ie the Great British Tax-paying Public) I am not exactly delerious about paying more tax to subsidise Ken Bates' personal asset fortune.

Nor am I. The cnut drove me away from watching Chelsea 15 years ago.

Because Leeds should have been in Division 4 this season, doesn't mean that Nottingham Forest are better on field, thanks to what's inevitably an arbitrarily set penalty. I suppose I'm saying Leeds should have started the campaign with nul points regardless of which division they were in.

As an aside, I am going to continue calling it the Revenue and [/or] Customs. We don't say 'Mrs Windsor of Windsor's' job centre.

Better team won on the day, congrates to any Rovers fans on the board if we have any. New Wembley is a stunning improvement on the old shithole...

The thing is, if Leeds had started this season in League 2, half of their first team squad would have jumped ship. The club would have a much smaller income, which hits the wage bill, and the fact the players won't want to play against Accrington Stanley.

If that were the case i think Forest would have had the better side

Hard luck battylad. Looking forward to reading your report, they're always a good read (even when you win).

Without reading the whole of this thread, I assume that I'm in the minority in being upset by the unpleasant inbreds who support Doncaster Rovers being happy at this moment.

Yes, thank God that Rotherham is an such oasis of civilisation in the cesspit that is South Yorkshire.

I've been quite overwhelmed by the messages of support Rovers received for the playoff game.

Thanks to everyone.

Unlucky battylad - your defence just didn't seem up for it at the beginning of both halves and your forwards didn't do much either. Very impressed with your keeper's anticipation and reading of the game generally though. Howson needs to learn not to attempt to grab the glory with shots from outside the box every single time - he thinks he's Stevie G or Frankie L or something.

Good to see my reverse jinx worked. My £100 season ticket just got a little bit more valuable - I'm definitely going to my first every derby next season and we'll have to meet up for a pint.

I could watch this all day.

Seriously YEP, get a fucking grip and a clue...

That video must have been put together by a non-Leeds supporter taking the piss. Surely they don't take themselves that seriously, do they?
