i think forest played the easiest team of any english european cup winners. Malmo

Bruges was a very good team at that time. Took Liverpool all the way in a 2 legged UEFA cup final in 76, too. I think they were 2-0 up at Anfield in the first leg, though my memory may be playing tricks.

Thankfully, much more than these days, top European sides seemed to come from all over in them days.

Bruges beat Juventus in the semi in 1978. A fantastic Juve team, which made up much of the brilliant Italy WC sides in 78 and 82.
