And Steve Bull. If someone stays 15-odd years at a club and turns down offers from elsewhere to stay there, you have to think, "Well, they must have something going for them".
I haven't seen you address the fact that you are in a position of being "fortunate enough to have the camaraderie of a small club with FCUM, and the success at the top level of Big United" (the latter of which you have been whooping it up about on this thread) and this colours your "Football is all things to all people" stance because you, in a way, are trying to have the best of both worlds.
I'm not criticising you for it ( neither's PD as far as I can see) but it's a valid comment and worthy of more than "Go fuck yourself" (cue that response to me possibly).
I do find it strange that this seems to be the one topic that causes those who are normally the most argumentative of posters to adopt a "Hey, why can't we all just get along and agree to disagree?" attitude that is never seen on any other thread, especially the fortnightly BRC pissing matches.

How many more times must EIM explain that?
After my mother died, my brother and I inherited the house we lived in with our stepfather(from whom she was separated at the time of her death). Some time later, step-granny came to visit from Germany, and told me how lucky we were to have inherited the house. I responded to her that much as I appreciate being a house-owner, I'd feel much luckier if my mother was still alive.
I think EIM would have very much preferred if there had been no need for the founding of FCUM. To describe the arrival of the Glazers as being in any way a source of good fortune is a fucking insult. And to suggest that the alienation EIM feels from the football club he loves is something like good fun is particularly insulting.
QUOTE: I saw that John Terry Spitting and swearing thing first time and it underlines my hatred for him.
He optitomises everything i hate in English football, the boozy laddishness, the mindless agression as well as the arrogance of feeling he is above the law, not to mention the massive ego that is not backed by talent or skill.
As he behaves on the pitch, so does his fans behave on the sidelines and streets of European cities that their Hero is playing in.
I laughed when he missed the penalty as i knew he would.
As he was striding up, he was adjusting his hair, his kit and his armband so as to look good in the pictures as he scored the winning goal instead of concentrating where he was going to place the ball.
And like his so called hard hooligan mates who hid in the Russian pub when the locals fancied a scrap, he bottled it when it came to deliver on his hype.
What made it sweeter, was the eulogy by the commentator as Terry strode up, "John Terry, majestic, mr Chelsea, striding forward etc etc" only for the fool not only to miss, but fall on his backside.
But hey-ho, it's not Terry's fault, it is the fault of the horrible African man.
Spot on. Terry encapsulates everything about english football that makes people from other countries (and a lot of english people) very nervous. If he wasn't out on the pitch, he'd be 7 stone heavier, wrinkling up his piggy face and singing about 10 german bombers.
I don't know what Didier Drogba fuss is about. Drogba was a knobend, and completely deserved to be sent off for trying to provoke an opponent into smacking him. The same as That shitehawk Terry. Except terry is Sneakier.
Even if Drogba was still on the Pitch, Mr Guts-and-Glory-living-embodiment-of-the-club was going to take the Glory Penalty. It was all going to be about him. It was always going to be all about him. The other players would have needed several tractors pulling the opposite direction to stop him from going up and taking that penalty because he is mr chelsea the Fcuking Pig ignorant club foot Cnut. (this internet kiosk won't let me swear)
I wonder the odd time that he stops crying, does he just pause for a moment and just before bursting into floods of tears suddenly remember that ITS ALL HIS FAULT.
QUOTE: Had Ipswich Town been a Fourth Division or non league club with very few fans and no real presence in the town your dad may never have taken you to see them.
Had Ipswich been away and Fourth Division Colchester been at home that day, I'd have been a U, given that they were the only two grounds that could be reached between my dad finishing work on a Saturday and kickoff.

Like Harry says earlier, he hasn't addressed how he's having his cake and eating. And no, it wasn't a critisism.

That's worse than the Beatles analogy, to be honest. Big United haven't been taken away from EIM never to return, you don't have the house and your mother.

He's seemed really alienated about it over the last few days, eh?
And you, G-Man? You've enjoyed the glory of the last few days. As you're defending someone else's position (badly), do tell, how is this support over the last few days of glory different to the support you gave pre-Glazer?

And as for Bull, it's a lot easier staying 15-odd years at a club when you're one of the highest paid players in the country, and those sides in a higher division that did express an interest would have needed to break their wage structure (he earned more than double the highest player of a lot of top flight clubs) to sign him.
