The official tournament site has a page featuring illustrations of past winning teams done by Footballheroes.org artists. I had never heard of the site before, but I gather they publish books, and judging by the work on display, I'd love to look at more.

I want a picture of Karol Dobias from Czechoslovakia's 1976 team.

My favorites are 1960, 1976, 1980, and 1988.

Footballheroes.org is a truly remarkable site. A very good decision by the Euro 2008 guys to pick up on it.

Another 'footballing art' favourite of mine is here: http://nicolasdenis.blogspot.com/

The Lars Olsen pic from 1992 is great and the '76 Czech side look like the character sketches in the inserts from Grand Theft Auto. Which is good, obv.

Why are the '64 Spaniards all wearing Athletic (or Atleti) shirts?

Dobias in his pomp, leaving Berti Vogts on his butt.
