I've just got to give all you fine people on here my firm recommendation for Scroobius Pip vs dan le sacs new album. Hope the phrase hip-hop doesn't put anyone off!

You know this place little enough not to realise that the words "underground", "intelligent" and "development" are far more of a turn-off round here...

What a strange final sentence.

The Le Sac & Pip album is fine in small doses. The guy's Essex accent gets a bit much over the long haul, as do the minutiae of Hoxton grindie rivalries. 3/5.

Not exactly 'underground', though. "Thou Shalt Always Kill" was all over Radio 1 like a cheap suit.

I think my favourite track is the one where he starts reciting the periodic table, with handy facts about all the elements.

I have a strong desire to make a Tom Lehrer reference, but I feel that it's already been done...

Whats the Hoxton grindies reference rhino?
I wasn't claiming it to be 'underground' thats just a track title from his first album, No Commercial Breaks.

Blimey. I'm guessing Mr Pip is familiar with it.

Well, there's a touch of that about "Rapper's Battle" and "Fixed", and even "Thou Shalt Always Kill", while an attack on indie navel-gazing, could do with throwing open a window and looking beyond the indie scene itself.

Well the above quote puts me off an album that I'm quite looking forward to hearing.

I've really loved everything I've heard from these guys, especially "the beat that my heart skipped". The guy's a Millwall fan too, which is probably alright from a typically jack-the-lad, "Doherty's playin' down me local", pov.
