That's a nice cloth on the table you're sitting at.

PPV very kindly agreed to my request of the blue change strip that the Croatians valiantly saved this summer's football for the rest of us in

Whioch doesn't look like a tablecloth. Much. Or maybe a tablecloth that's had a big bottle of ink spilt on it.

Welcome, xbendystevex.

I wonder if your name is easier with diacritical marks.

I think I might adopt Croatia as my second team because I like Adrian Chiles.

I'm rooting for Croatia, as I think Modric my be the only spurs player at Euro08 (not that he's played any games for us yet)

Bilic is a god!
It will be fun to see what Modric and Rakitic can do.

Come to Gothenburg, Bored. I'm organizing Cro parties at a sportsbar. We will be dancing on the tables, singing Croatian song, drinking til dawn.

Hello again, PPV.

Can anyone (including PPV, although he may be less than unbiased) clarify something for me:

Is it just me or have Croatia, over the last decade or so been the most violent and aggressive national football team in Europe? It just seems that in nearly every game of theirs I've watched, they've been flying in with studs up, hacking at legs, etc etc.

Obviously every team fouls to a lesser or greater extent, but Croatia seem to be worse than most at it. It's a shame, as I had initially wanted to be able to root for them as an underdog* in some competitions, but their apparent behaviour stamped out that urge.

(* - Obviously they're nowhere near an underdog these days. In fact, they're probably the most likely candidate for a rank outsider to next win a European Cup, albeit probably not this one.)
