Ah, he's going to Zamalek?

I would expect him to score a hatful in the Egyptian League, though I'm sure that their primary focus (other than the derbies with Al-Ahly) is the African Champions League.

I wonder if he'll be tempted to try a bow and arrow goal celebration:

Cardiff City & Wales I've always thought Forest Whitaker would do well. As I get older I am returning to the Custard Cream 3 Bits of Fry & Laurie - The Complete Scripts Jaded Axe Attack Location: East Molesey - it's paradise Birthdate: 1968-12-11

On credit I'd imagine. The income from the Ramsey & Gunter sales and the threat of Hammam's court case receding has probably made the bank a bit more helpful.

Oh, and there's also the theory that we have never had a chance of getting him but being seen to make a big bid is good PR.

What's the word your end about Roger Johnson leaving? Any chance, or were Ipswich using the bid to pressure Leicester into selling McAuley?

Didn't Ipswich do that with Jeffers last season IVT?

Ironically, you could easily afford him now.

Everyone thinks it is worryingly possible. We're not in a financial position to turn down a decent offer but a) I don't think any of the offers have been that exciting yet and b) I'm not sure the player is going to be that interested in anyone outside the Premier League.

It is with a heavy heart that I report that West Brom are the most recent club to be linked with Shola Ameobi.

I was similarly underwhelmed when I heard about Ameobi. There's a strain of thinking amongst some mildly optimistic faithful (not that many, to be told) that Mowbray may improve his play in some areas that previous managers couldn't, but, mainly, the response has been a finger-rubbed chin, a raised eyebrow and a long and quizzical 'Hmmmm....'

First McCourt pisses off to Celtic mid-medical, then this. It's all go at the Hawthorns.

We've signed former Crewe, Altrincham and Droylsden forward, Kyle Wilson.

Margy is as giddy as a goat about the deal, it seems. Which is good news for us.

Thank fuck if its true. There were rumours about him coming to Toronto.

Now all we have to do is see off those Darren Huckerby rumours and we'll be right.

Gareth McAuley's transfer to Ipswich appears to be confirmed. Decent Championship central defender but somewhat overpriced if the £1.5 million bit is true

Agreed. Good to see an ex-Crues stalwart doing well. He played part-time in the Irish League for six years before going to Lincoln aged 24.

McAuley's a great lad, brilliant servant to City and chipped in with some crucial goals.

On a related note, we've just signed János Kovács from Chesterfield on a 2 year deal. Very happy with our two signings so far, and got a few more on the way hopefully.

Any Grimsby fans on the board?

Watch out, you are about to get the worst player ever to wear a Wrexham shirt ... Richard Hope

Richard Hope's brother is player-coach at Nene Park. He's not too bad at all (for the Conference, anyway).

We're favourites to sign Mark Kerr, according to gossip.

Any Falkirk/Dundee United/Scottish football in general fans got the skinny on him?
