thank you. Yes, it's something we were already agreed has to happen, and it's good to have a positive thing to go to, something different, rather than carrying on in this job, everything the same, just living elsewhere.
About Hobbes, I don't know, yeah, I'm avoiding thinking about that bit because it's too depressing.
and yes absolutely. I need to decide what I want to do. I want to finish my degree very much, but at the moment I keep having thoughts about conservation projects and animal sanctuaries. which is kind of unrelated. but we'll see.
So, it looks like my planned trip will be taking place after all ut at the end of July / beginning of August.
Does anyone have a map of Geneva? I'm trying to find hotels within reasonable walking / commuting distance of the UN main building. Oh, and vegetarian suggestsions for restaurants and local cuisine would be greatly appreciated.
Well I've just found out I need to go to Spiez in October. I'm flying to Zurich but I might also need to Geneva on Friday 17th and I've just found out it's only 2 hours or so by train. If that's the case, I might stay on an extra day and take advantage of some of the advice here (and say Hi to Lyra is she's around).
There is no real dodgy places to live, even the suburban cities like Meyrin or Onex are quite safe if not particularly scenic and you beter like tower blocks. Le Lignon is quite spectacular for that, it's one giant block with 10000 people living in it. I would say go for anything really, you can't afford to be choosy with the lack of places available and the public transport network is excellent. You can even live outside of the city, along the train lines towards La Plaine and Versoix, your season ticket includes local trains.
