The Kentucky Jaguars are trying to trade my second player, Plantain James, to my other team. I think I'd see even less playing time, so I'm hoping to become a free agent.
I'd definitely be interested in an OTF team, I think the game would be much more fun if you knew your team-mates (almost all the players on my team are owned by about 3 people).
They promise lots more teams when they have more servers.
One of my players finally found some gameday success. J.T. Stretch, HB, ran for 97.5 yards on 20 carries and returned a punt 82 yards for a TD. And the team won. I love that fictional little guy.
There was a question awhile back as to why salary was expensive. Well, I've finally hit level 8, and learned that new equipment costs $2,500/piece. Also, training gets more expensive as you level up, so it's important to be bringing enough in that you can pay for training and keep enough in reserve for new equipment as you hit the relevant upgrading levels.
The two guys I have who've hit lvl 8 have been given new contracts by the team to help with the increased financial burdens.
And the next level that you can buy equipment at, (lvl 16?) it costs 12.5 thousand a pop. Which is quite pricey, even for a doo-rag that helps you catch better.
Bob Blomstrand seems to have gone into a slump after losing his starting place. Backing up all 3 LB positions he's still getting plenty of plays, but he's hardly making a tackle.
Gah. My team seems to be becoming a bit shit. We just lost 16-0 to the 8th placed team, without a single kicking opportunity and less than 33% pass completion. We've now lost 3 out of the last four, despite my best efforts.
I've just got my Level 8 FB in as starter (and with guaranteed more plays) than the team owner's Level 11 FB by acting like Emil Dantchev and kicking up a fuss on the forum.
I quoted various statistics on how Zeke "The Deke" Montana was better for the team, and alluding to not re-signing for next season.
Pablo Garcia's team, the Budapest Cowboys, is 10-0, second behind another 10-0 team in our division. We play them on the second-to-last day of the season.
My other player, Plantain James, is a bit unsettled--traded from his first team to the Cowboys, where he was not going to get any playing time, so I talked the owner into releasing him, got picked up by a team that turns out has had a lot of turmoil with new owners, some of whom cleared out most of the team, only to sell the team, and now I'm being traded to a 2-7 team that lost their last game 57-0.
If anyone is thinking of creating a new player, I think a LB may be a good choice. As the game currently only allows 4-3 defence, there is a limited market, but I think they are changing that after this season so there should be lots of slots opening up. Obviously that makes choosing to be a DT a worse option.
My kicker has managed to figure out how to hit PATs, going 9 for 9 in the last game as his team destroyed the last place team in our division.
My OT has been getting time on special teams and as a third choice player. The owner of his team is abit of a jerk though, and has ignored my plea to up his salary so that he can but his new bling at level 8.
My Cornerback remains the star of my trio, starting to clearly be one of the best returners in the league, and showing a surprising ability to smother WRs. Shame the offense of that team is dismal, otherwise that team would be really good.
With you jerk owner, you can always ask for a trade, and, if that doesn't work, go all Randy Moss on him (play on relaxed).
I got bored over the weekend and, having just gotten my tax-refund check back and feeling quasi-flush, made a gaggle of new players on the theory that getting them playing time in the D-league (and this season's boost, if I feel like it) means that they'd be well set starting next year.
Bob Blomstrand got back his starting spot and made 5 tackles in a thrilling win for my team against the 4th ranked side in the group. We had bugger all offense all game, but our defence held them to just 2 field goals. However they scored a try on an interception return to lead 13-3. We gradually inched our way back into the game through FG to 13-12, and then finally managed a drive worthy of the name to lead 19-13 half way through the 4th and we just clung on.
I was watching this on play-by-play this morning, and wasn't almost late for work, but couldn't tear myself away.
Etienne? What stats are you boosting? I've been concentrating almost exclusively on kicking and the special skills, with the occasional point in confidence. Is anything else worth it? I've yet to miss a PAT but I'm 5/10 for FGs.
