Bob Blomstrand seems to be lining up in two positions on the chart, which is odd.
Giganticus just sneaked in a final two level, bit too late, boost. He is soft capped on speed, agility isn't far off and I gave a bit more to vision. Picking a LB wasn't the greatest idea for me I don't think - way too many attributes.
We generally have one of the LOLBs lined up at MLB as well (b/c LOLBs are on the field the least, and MLBs on the field the most due to the nickel and dime set ups), and Bob was our highest level LB so he was in two spots. Your boost to Giganticus makes him pretty fierce, and means we should probably move our LBs around a bit.
My suggestion, at this moment, would be to have Giganticus or Bob starting at LOLB (and 3rd on the MLB depth chart), with J. Charlie backing up, and the one who is not there at the starting MLB position. I would guess it may make most sense to have Bob starting at MLB b/c of both his higher defense general SAs (which only operate at MLB) and also his higher intimidation SAs (which should probably be on the field more to weaken the opposing QBs).
My other LB thought is to change the advanced energy tactics at ROLB to something like 98/99, so that the two equally leveled players mostly rotate and will get close to an even number of plays.
Etienne, ap and Matej, any thoughts on what makes the most sense here?
Once we figure out the proper set up, it would make sense to have the guy who is starting at LOLB put fewer points into defense general, as that's a costly SA and those points would be better spent in vision or something else.
That makes some sense. I am still trying to steer clear from the SPs after my early dalliance (I threw one in to snarl, as you had all been talking about it seeming effective).
I think I want to soft cap agility and vision, then work out what to do with him. Maybe he needs a bit more in tackling.
So as you know, he will sign his contract at the last possible second. You might need to remind me - I just want the time value money thing for the team!
Our schedule is out, and we start playing scrimmage games tomorrow. We have the good fortune of playing against the #1 and #2 teams in the Alpha conference, so it will be a real test.
Our regular season schedule is also a tough one, as we play almost all of the best teams (except the Red Bulls) in the first 8 weeks, starting with Taipei on Saturday. By the way, I'm going to be out of town this weekend (Friday morning through Sunday night), so, while I should be able to do the game plan and individual tactics for the first game (though maybe not), someone else will need to do the game plan and advanced individual tactics post for the 2nd game (which is a tough one against Chang Mai). If he has time, it may make sense for Matej to do this, as he's spent a lot of time working with the new AI.
I've sent PMs out earlier today. So far have one offer for $150k and one for $135k. I'll see what else comes in in the next couple of hours.
JtS,
How much does Knut need? Generally, we haven't been giving the full lvl 16 bonus for our LBs as we have so many of them and it gets costly, but I'll defer to Matej on this.
EDIT: By the way, Matej, did you purchase additional expansions to the stadium this morning?
I'm tempted to boost right now to be at our best for the Gangsters, but I think it might be wise for me to hold off a few days until we have a clearer idea of precisely how Bort has nerfed kickers.
GY, I think that's a wise move (I'll do the same with my running back to see how much they've changed carrying). At the very least, we should wait to boost until right before the first game, as we may as well take advantage of whatever higher XP training we can get.
By the way, I've changed the advanced energy tactics to respond to our current line up (incl. Munchington's boosting. . .he and Joe should more or less alternate snaps for the first game), and I've posted the individual advanced tactics on the team forum.
Ok. Given how much tougher our schedule is this year, I don't think we can be guaranteed of a home playoff game, so I think we may want to keep enough in reserve to cover the last 8 days of salary (as going insolvent prior to a road playoff game would be terrible).
I've found a starting job for Whitey for a team willing to pay us $180k (that's our best offer, and a good one).
