Once I move Burns (and it looks like I'll be able to get enough to pay for the contract to the new FS, if not a little more), I'll try and move the lvl 11 FS.
Barring a last minute retraction, we've traded our lvl 13 FS (Army Burns) for $210k, giving us almost $90k in profit in the swap of a lvl 13 for a lvl 20. I'll try and move the lvl 11 FS as well, though his build isn't as good and his contract doesn't extend through the full season, so it might be tough.
It was really just luck, as the agent for the incoming FS was great, and chose us (despite a close to minimum offer) because we didn't seem like idiots willing to throw too much money around at the expense of the team and because we had active forums.
Assuming that there's no retraction in the next hour, I've also traded our level 11 FS for $107k. Not a huge amount of money, but probably good enough considering his build and contract.
The only other piece of business is potentially trading our backup TE (Klaus Cowman) for cash and bringing in a new, hopefully higher level TE. Klaus had asked me to see if I could find a starting spot for him on an expansion team (but only if we found a reasonable replacement for him). If not, he's happy to stay, but I think it makes sense to try and honor his request.
It looks like the dealing is done. I signed a decent lvl 18 TE (for around $120k total package), and traded our backup lvl 13 TE for $180k (barring a retraction). Netted out, our upgrades from a lvl 13 to a lvl 20 FS and from a lvl 13 to a lvl 18 TE yielded a total profit of about $150k. The new TE doesn't have the perfect build, but he boosts and is willing to listen to build suggestions. Even with his just-ok build, he's still a huge upgrade over both my lvl 14 TE and the lvl 13.
I don't think I'll make any more deals, unless I can make a similar upgrade at another position for fun and profit. On that score, I've asked our backup SS if he wanted to go start somewhere else. I don't think he will, but as he's just a lvl 11, we could upgrade over him.
I just learned, while reading the forums then checking some play-by-plays, that the game lines up the number 1 CB against the number 2 WR, and the number 2 CB against the number 1 WR. This is interesting (explains why the number 2 WR tends to do worse than the number 1), and probably should cause us to change the way we fill out the depth chart, especially if it carries over to the new depth chart. This might also address Matej's concern about Neon Leon's build b/c of his stats. If it turns out that Neon Leon was always lining up over the number 2 WR, while Wallace was lining up over the 1 WR (generally the primary receiver), then it makes sense that Wallace would get thrown at more and have more stats.
It would be great if someone else could check a game's play-by-play to see if I'm correct.
Heh, sorry about that Gyuri, on initial viewing I didn't actually register the fact that most of the posts on this page were written by the same person.
I assume this thread is about some sort of gridiron thing?
