"if you sell equipment, do you lose the ratings boost you had that piece of equipment set for?"

Surely that's the whole point. That's certainly how it works in every other game.

Sorry, I've never played a game with wacky terminology like this or concepts like a $500 doo rag allowing a player to tackle better.

Why do you think Deion Sanders was so good?

It's classic RPG style. That's why my kicker is looking forward to being able to buy those "Cleats of Game Winning +3"

I got an amusing message from the owner of the team my kicker is on. It was basically: "You lost us the game, work on your kicking".

Clearly a motivational genius.

The admins at the site gave a 100 flex point bonus today, so you can use it to create or boost a player.

How's everybody doing?

My kicker made 4/4 PATs in the last game... finally. My cornback/returner has been a key performer in two games and my OT hasn't played a down yet.

As I feared, Pablo is getting less playing time as the Cowboys keep getting better--we've got a perfect record and are second in the Eastern Europe AA #2 league Alpha Conference. My other guy, Plantain James, is a guard on the Kentucky Jaguars. We lost our last game in a heartbreaker, 13-6. For some reason, we went for a field goal when it was 3rd and Goal on the 4 yard line, and missed it. Me and the rest of the O-Line gave up four sacks in the game, the last one killing our drive when we were in the red zone with time running out.

You know Matej, there is an actual Budapest Cowboys. http://www.budapestcowboys.com/

And apparently several guys on GLB with players on the virtual Budapest Cowboys play for the real deal. Perhaps ad hoc can get a jersey for you.

I am doing OK - made five tackles so far, there are a bunch of players above me so I am playing as a second line.

Noticed you can only level up 5 times in a season. I am likely to achieve that easily, so I don't want to use my current flex points on Giganticus - he can earn them himself and then pay for my new player.

Doing good, I think. Led my team's defence in my second game with 10 tackles (though we lost) and then had 6 in our next game victory.

Lost my starting spot on the left of the line for today's game, but backing up that and the centre.

Need more game time but the team owner has a player in my position. Bah.

I set up another player, a WR called Lucas Fire

Season update?

The Pittsburgh Dinosaurs are a lowly fourth in their conference but our 3-1 record is reasonably strong. We seem to lack offensive punch, despite the presence of Niko Belic at halfback. My kicker had one stinker but his record of 4/6 field goals and 5/5 extra points is among the best in the conference. And he scored the only points last game.

The only one of my teams doing much of anything is the awesomely named Appalachian Lycans, where cornerback Neon Leon has proved himself capable of coming into the D as a nickelback, and is currently 4th in the league in Punt return average.

The other two teams scored a combined total of zero points in their last game.

Out of boredom at the fact that my first two players played games at the same time (and, therefore, left me 2 days between action), I've dug in and bought some flex points to create two new players, a DE (Crush McNasty) and a WR (Carmichael Harold).

One big benefit is that I finally landed a starter (Crush) on a decent team, the Husavik Whalers, which at 5-1 has two more wins than my other three teams combined. My lvl 7 OT is on a team that hasn't yet scored a touchdown, and he has yet to be matched against a DE that isn't at least 4 levels higher. Sadly, his morale is at a low ebb. I've placed him on suicide watch.

I'd like us to have an OTF team next season, because if I'm going to be on teams that are terrible, it would nice to be able to commiserate with others here at our suckitude.

Yeah, an OTF team would be great, but it looks like team ownership involves a lot of Flex points.

It looks like it requires 1,000 flex points for two seasons to buy a team. That seems like a lot, but it only costs $8.50 to get 1,000 points (if the dollar continues to fall, that amount could probably be found lying on the street in London), and a decent number of referrals would bring that down substantially.

I think we should definitely try and get an OTF team... (hmmm... the One Touch Footballers? The Touch and Feelies?) but actually pulling off getting a team might be a trick.

You have to keep paying after 2 seasons, though. It might be worth playing a few seasons before creating a team to see how the game and its community develops
