If any of you enjoyed Knocked Up or Superbad, I highly recommend Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Even Russell Brand was quite amusing in it. I think Apatow may have perfected the mix of sweet and crude which wasn't quite there in his last couple of movies.

Go see it and you'll get the thread title.

I agree. I think this movie was closer to 40-Year-Old Virgin in sensibility than either Knocked Up or Superbad.

I was also surprised by the fact that Mila Kunis was actually quite decent in this. I couldn't stand her character in "That 70s Show", and was dreading her in this, but I think she may have outdone Kristin Bell, of whom I'm a bit of a fan.

best thread title ever (so far)

Shit film though, and if you didnt know who Russell Brand is/was/hopes to be, then dont watch.

Although he wasnt the worst thing/person in it, by far.

Hobbesianwrongness from the GP there.

I just saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Another massive triumph for Apatow's "troupe." Great performances all around, and as with all of his stuff, the characters are all more complicated and real then they seem at first. It is wonderfully profane but it never feels like it's going out of it's way for those jokes like American Pie or something like that.

A break-out for Mila Kunis. Her character on That 70's Show is deliberately very irritating and the comedy a bit, er, broad, I guess is the word actors might use. But here she is really appealing.

I'd never seen Russell Brand in anything before. I thought he was good as the douchebag-with-heart-of-gold.

It was fine for an airplane movie, but I wouldn't have paid to see it. It was helped by having Veronica Mars in it, of course, there were some good lines, and the musical was cool, but other than that it was very ordinary.

It was better than that. "Ordinary" rom-coms are usually terrible.

It was also helped by Jonah Goldberg, the waiter and the woman from SNL whose name I forget as the yoga instructor and Billy Baldwin doing an OTT David Curuso impersonation.

Kristen Wiig? I actually don't know if that's who you're talking about, but she was in Knocked Up, and I figure she might have been in this also.
