Hmm...I'd help chip in via Paypal if someone ponied up their money to get on the waiting list, but that notice doesn't say anything if you don't get a team this time around. I take it if you remain on the waiting list, you have to wait until a future season?
I think the way this works is that certain teams get sold back to GLB or abandoned during the season, so even if you don't get one at the beginning, you can get one during the season.
I'm not sure if Matej is still active in this game, but as the oldest player, he can jump the line (assuming he started over 30 days ago) to get a team. If he was willing to do that, I'd contribute something via PayPal to help.
I'm on the waiting list (pretty far down) to get a team for my nephew who was at school and so couldn't put his name on the list.
I just spoke to my nephew, and he has no problem with making the team I've signed up for be used as the OTF team. It may be awhile until we get it (currently 482!), but hopefully we'll have it by season 4.
Consequently, it may be a good idea to try and make sure (to the extent possible) that you don't sign contracts too deep into season 4, so that when we get a team, we'll be able to stock it quickly.
Also, if this is the route you all would like to go, it may make sense to begin to coordinate what types of players we choose to create (if any) from now on.
Matej, it may make sense for you to try the waiting list to see if you have a better spot than me. It costs a 1,000 FP deposit, but it's refunded in full any time you want to get off the list.
For ease, here's a position-by-position list. Anyone who is interested in being on a theoretical OTF team can copy and paste the list, adding their player(s).

QB Joe Philadelphia (lvl 4--Gyuri)

OT Bob Bob Jones (lvl ?--Matej)
Johnny Roach (lvl 10--Gyuri)

Excellent, Etienne. I was going to mention that for anyone who's playing, and doesn't have either a financial or moral aversion to putting money into the game for Flex Points, this is a good time to create a new player. Each player can purchase 3 boosts (automatic level ups, incl. the 5 skill points) every season, but the boosts don't carry over from season to season. So, if you wanted to create a player and boost him, it would be better to it before this season ends in the next few days.
You could, theoretically, create a player today and have him be a lvl 6 at the start of the next season without him ever playing a game.
Another tip in creating players is "re-rolling". If you don't like the intro stats given to your new player, you can retire him without penalty and try and get another one with better initial attributes. The key, here, is to make sure that the meaningless abilities (i.e., for an HB, kicking, punting, throwing and tackling) are very low (7 or 8), which will mean that the rest of the points will have been spread around to areas of need.
I added myself to the waiting list, but I'm at position 504. I'll leave myself there even though I think Gyuri should get his first. I'll back out if it looks likely we'll get a team.
5 OTs is a lot, but we would need at least 4 anyway (and, assuming they are all of similar caliber, we could set the sub levels as such that they are always fresh. . .a good place to be). We could also have one of them switch to guard, as I think the out-of-position penalty for that is very light.
If someone felt like making a new player, DE, WR, DT, TE, FB, C and P (in that order) seem to be the way to go at this moment. Having someone get started on a DE or WR would be especially good, as they take awhile to be decent.
