"Goal Line Blitz is a browser-based multiplayer online game based on American Football."

You create individual players instead of teams (though you can do that too if you get enough 'flex points').

I just started, but it looks interesting. I'd be more interested in a 'real football' version of this type of game, but oh well...

I could give this a shot. How do you get your player on a team? I went to "computer offers" and there were none.

You either have to wait for the computer to offer (up to a day) or advertise your player in the forum.

So far i was offered a contract by one human team, cut because they'd offered somebody else a contract at the same time, exchanged several messages with one person who said they wanted me, and then never offered a contract, and then got offered another contract (better than the first) shortly after that.

(My player is Frigyes Karinthy, Hungarian kicker. London Dolphins is my new team.)

Ah, thanks. I think I'll wait for an offer instead of pursuing one. My player is Johnny Roach, Offensive Tackle ordinaire.

It may be useful to "level up" Johnny Roach with your remaining flex points. You get more skill, and will be more likely to play better.

Unless you want multiple players, in which case, you don't want to use your flex points.

How do you use flex points to level up? Do you mean training?

There should be an option either on your home page or the profile to "boost" your player.

Oh, ok, I had done that when I created the player (made my OT strong and dumb).

Ah. I couldn't tell if you did. I think I can only see a limited part of your profile for that player.

Not sure really, but at least a season, and at least enough (750-900) to do a high level of training.

I signed for 1 year at $850/day. I'm not sure high level training is great, because it depletes your energy, and the lower energy you have the more plays you're on the bench, and the longer on the bench, the fewer experience points your receive.

Equipment, apparently, is also pretty important as it raises your levels.

It looks interesting, but I'm a bit bemused by the whole initial signing thing. I deliberately chose a non-glamour position (kicker), because I reckoned there would be less competition, and now I'm just kicking my heels. No CPU offers, and judging by the forums, there are hell of a lot more kickers than places. I'm about to post a notice, but the "Teams looking for kickers" forum has about 10 responses to every offer, while the "Kickers looking for a team" has very few responses, even for higher level kickers. What's the best way to get your foot in the door?

OK, I've got my first offer pretty quickly after posting, so maybe it's not so bad. The offer's not great, though, so I'll hold out for a while and see what else lands in my inbox.

listen up, my last kicker went 1/6 in our last game, you will be in rotation, every other game you will start at the end of the season the better guy stays the other doesnt. up too the challenge?

That's not too bad, but not great. My contract (as a kicker as well) is much better for instance.

Did you boost your kicker to lvl 4?

(Also, make sure your player profile is visible to everyone... otherwise they won't know anything about your player.)

I posted an ad, and then bumped it once. Seemed to pay off as I immediately got offers after that.

Most human managers seem to want to know that you are going to be active and improve your player with training/equipment (and buying flex points, which I don't plan to do).

"Did you boost your kicker to lvl 4? "

How do you do that? I've allocated all my skill points, bought equipment and put him on a training regime, but I'm still level 1.

There should be an option to spend flex points (if you still have about 300) to boost his levels. I think it is either on the home page or maybe the 'spend/earn' flex points page.

(Although, I've read in the forums some arguments in favor of 'not boosting' your player, I don't think it would matter much at the early levels."
