I'm finally back online and have played my turn in our two games Rogin, by the way.

FF: When I regsitered on the beta test version of this board, there was a field in the registration form which read "Personal text". I answered in the way you see. Unfortunately this version of the board does not have the function so I cannot now remove it.

I'm currently engaged in two games with Rogin to complete my quota in the competition. In one I'm way ahead, and in the other one, way behind. I blame the fact that R has chosen the TWL dictionary for the one he's creaming me in. If I can't have "ur" as a two letter word, I'm lost.

Next time, there needs to be a handicap system! Otherwise Wendy will always win it.

She didn't win the last competition.

I do think it might have been a little unfair to have Duncan G in that group, but the selections were made randomly with no interference from me. If someone has a better idea for the next time, I'm all ears.

Believe me no one will be more surprised than I was to learn that "erev" is a word.

I think that's our group all done.

Congrats (and thanks!) Lyra.

I know "erev" is Hebrew for "eve" (as in "christmas eve"), but I didn't know it was a word in English.

I enjoyed the tournament, although in my 'bad loser on facebook scrabble' guise wouldn't have done so if losing every game. The random draw is fine though.

In games with Mme Folle, we've agreed to use the SOW PODS dictionary. This enables FF to hit me with a greater range of Yiddisher quips, so I have to counter by quoting the lyrics to 'Born on the bayou'.

I like SOWPODS mostly because there are about twice as many two-letter words. They're extremely handy to have, as much for connecting the primary word you're trying to put down as for getting rid of awkward letters.

Here's the updated leaderboard:
