Do you think they meant slime-green away shirts.

If one of your kits is white and the other is 'slime' green, when will you ever need a third strip? Particularly one that makes Robbie Savage look so old. Oh wait no, its Archie Gemmill

Cardiff City & Wales I've always thought Forest Whitaker would do well. As I get older I am returning to the Custard Cream 3 Bits of Fry & Laurie - The Complete Scripts Jaded Axe Attack Location: East Molesey - it's paradise Birthdate: 1968-12-11

Logic has no place in the whole issue of third kits.

Watching Championship goals today was the first time I had seen Charlton's kit - I thought it was awful it looks like they are wearing their training bibs.

From the crowd shots it looked like their away kit was blue, (apologies if I'm mistaken) I think this is absolutely wrong - teams that play in red traditionally should never play in blue and vica versa. I notice Donny were also in blue and white half hoops - Shame.

Shameful though they may be the (third kit of) blue and white horizontal stripes look like a high point of design in comparison with our black shirts, red shorts away kit combo.

I always understood our away kit as being green traditionally... but then if it were green we wouldn't need a marketable third strip.

Agree 100% - aren't the majority of red teams' major rivals blue teams? It's just wrong!

Big, big news folks.

Kit thread afficianados will remember the near-mythical holy grail of Cardiff's "Superted flash" sponsored kit.

Well now not only do I have a good quality pic of one (thanks to the maker of the show himself);

I actually have one on it's way to me! An actual match worn one as well. I am unfeasibly excited by this news, Xmas has come early.

This is enormously exciting, I have one reserved too for a donation to a local kids football club in south wales.

BTW, the excellent "historical kits" website has us wearing these
shirts in Feb / March 1984 only
http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Cardiff_City/Cardiff_City.htm

This coincides with the famous 3-3 home draw with Chelsea (just)
according to soccerbase

English Division 2 (old) Barnsley 2-3 Cardiff 04-02-1984
English Division 2 (old) Cardiff 0-1 Leeds 11-02-1984
English Division 2 (old) Cardiff 0-4 Fulham 19-02-1984
English Division 2 (old) Newcastle 3-1 Cardiff 25-02-1984
English Division 2 (old) Cardiff 2-1 Middlesbro 03-03-1984
English Division 2 (old) Cambridge 0-2 Cardiff 10-03-1984
English Division 2 (old) Cardiff 2-0 Shrewsbury 17-03-1984
English Division 2 (old) Man City 2-1 Cardiff 24-03-1984

To bring this thread full circle Bristol Rovers will wear a special "Black Arab" kit against Swindon Town as part of their 125 anniversary celebrations:

According to the blurb for said choice 4...

Each fan who bought the petrol-coloured kit, featuring a large collar with yellow trim, green arms and the logo of shirt sponsor Panasonic.

...Huddersfield is populated by at least two thousand green armed folk advertising washing machine manufactuers.

Oooh, fun!

QUOTE:
Now, as announced on our sister site FootballShirtCulture, the Polish football association has agreed a six-year technical sponsorship deal with Nike. In layman's terms this means that Poland's next kit will be made by the US manufacturer so we want you to tell us what it should look like.

On DesignFootball.com you can now find a new category which serves as a section to upload your designs for a Nike Poland kit (with optional description). We don't care what format they come in, whether created on Photoshop, Paint or simply crayon drawings scanned onto your computer, we just want to see your ideas.

Infact, we want to see them so much that the best design will win £100.(through Paypal !) Devalued GBP or not, it's still a hundred squids and we've already seen what you can come up with when you want to so get designing.

The competition will be judged by an entirely impartial panel featuring administrators of DF, FSC and some guest experts, and all entries should be in by 18th December 2008.

Entries are prefered to be uploaded in the filetype JPG, but other filetypes are possible too.

Our decision on the winner will be announced on Sunday 21st December 2008 and will be final. Although if you disagree be sure to let us know on the site ;)

Anyway, that's it for now and all that's left to say is Forza Polska and good luck!
