Bangor City reached the Welsh Cup Final two weeks ago. Needless to say many coaches will be going to Newtown. Two or three of them will contain people who can't be bothered with watching the likes of Caersws, Porthmadog and Connah's Quay or the other League games, apart from the "Rhyl Scum" naturally. Of course this is usual with cup finals and big games.

However the usual story has taken an unexpected twist this season. Our club shop was broken into on Friday night.

It appears that the job was carried out by a crack team. The valueless programmes and t-shirts were left untouched. This may have been due to the prominence of words upon them, these symbols may have confused the crack team.

The expert team went straight for the treasure; Replica Shirts, Hooded Tops and Scarves.

It's thought that the goods taken may fetch as much as £100 on the open market. To put it another way, that could be 3 new pairs of tracksuit bottoms OR a new pair of K-Swiss, some tracksuit bottoms and some new white socks to tuck them into OR if they're feeling really flash, 5/6 of a Lacoste tracksuit.

Basically there'll be 10 Scallies at the Welsh Cup Final wearing their brand new scarves with pride and getting all angry if Bangor aren't 10 nil up after 5 minutes. They'll be the biggest Bangor City fans in the world for the day. Come Monday they'll go back to setting fire to each other for You Tube.

Update!!!!

The CID have been hot on the trail of the thieves and have actually recovered some of the stolen goods.

It seems that the thieves thought better of actually using the pilfered goods to make a bit of money, they preferred to scatter them all over Bangor Mountain instead.

They also broke in again last night. This time they stole the bloody Welsh Rugby shirt we couldn't shift.

The programmes remain untouched.

I thought this was a joke when I read it on Citizens Choice. Bloody hell, I take it the Replica shirts that were on sale have all gone then?

Were a significant amount recovered?

As a former Bangor resident of three years' standing I find this episode by terms amusing, bewildering and sad. Thanks for sharing it, Kowalski. And I hope the Bangor lads can bring back the cup at the weekend.
