I'd be obliged for an email/PM as well, goldstone, if you could.

Toronto meanwhile has reportedly offered Paul Dickov a contract and gotten something, probably allocation money, out of San Jose for Huckerby's rights.

KC leads RBNY 1-0 late 1st half, Conrad heading in a corner from Claudio Lopez.

so I suppose Kevin Stot IS one of the 4 full time MLS refs... but doesn't it seem like he is in the middle of a few too many of these?

AG: Huckerby wanted no part of Toronto because he didn't want to play on turf apparently. And if you want to scout your Champions League opponent, Superliga starts today and Atlante-Houston is being streamed at 10PM.

As for Superliga, the players union is highly pissed that if an MLS team wins it and gets the million, the players are only geting to keep $150,000 among them. The rest goes to the front office/league HQ. One more issue to be taken up in the next CBA talks over the winter.

That prize money issue was brought up in the media last year, but was duly ignored by the league. Although I enjoyed a lot of the Superliga games in 2007, the tournament's been rendered redundant by the reformed CONCACAF Champions League. Not only are the players getting ripped off by the league, as usual, but they're knackering themselves in mid-summer at the hottest time of the year with at least three extra games. MLS-Mexican match-ups should keep some meaning for competitive games or they risk becoming stale - DC's now played Chivas Guadalajara three times at RFK in the past 15 months.

A glimmer of fucking hope that Mo's plan to destroy the team forever might be thwarted - Goal.com says Paul Dickov is mulling competing offers from TFC and Blackpool.

Go 'pool!

Have we done the Guzan to Villa thiing yet? Seems it's actually on this time. Is it time to go aorund again on the question: why does the US keep pumping out great keepers?

Both Brads (Guzan and Friedel) are rumored to be going to Villa.. Adu might be on the move again- Monaco? And it looks like everyone else is finally agreeing with our own JV that Michael Bradley is shit- and just a product of the Heereenveeneee goal scoring machine- no (big-time) offers yet??

Monaco is bidding for both Bradley and Adu or so I have read. Genoa were also interested in Freddy, but I can't understand why Benfica would give up so soon after 1)playing him way out of position and 2) understandably behind Rui Costa.

MLS transfer window opens tomorrow. Meanwhile, KC sent Scott Sealy to San Jose for allocation money, RBNY decided to pull Sinisa Ubiparipovich's contract and make him developmental-$33,00 to $17,000 take it or leave it. The last guy they did this to left it and went down a league to play for Miami. And Toronto (supposedly) are going to throw $4 million at Hakan Sukur to come play on the carpet. This I will believe when it happens.

Meanwhile, one of the bigger WTF moments happens in New England. Chase Hilgenbrink comes home from years in Chile to the Rapids, gets cut by Fernando, signs with New England... and is retiring immediately. To go to seminary and become a Catholic priest. Swear to God, no pun intended.

RSL is getting the 2009 All-Star Game, 3 guesses who they want to be the foreign opponent. Seattle's up to 17,000 in season ticket sales already as well.

Sweet Merciful Crap.

I can't exactly read Turkish, but this article from Millyet seems to report the Sukur story as fact. Nothing on the Galatasaray website, though.

Sometimes I think that this entire MLS season has been a subtle yet intentional campaign to destroy AG's mental health.

That would be highly amusing.

Would he be eligible for the match against Montreal?

I think I'm eligible, but it's been awhile since I've played and I doubt if I'd even make the bench.

Oh, wait, did you mean HS?

I have no idea what the rules are on eligibility. but they seem to be fairly loose as Charles Gbeke has managed to turn out for both Montreal and Vancouver so far in this tournament.

My mental health is fairly precarious at the best of times, jefe. And Mo's not subtle.

Nil-nil against the Quakes. An utterly terrible performance. First time I've heard the team booed at the end of a game. It was rank. I knew Guevara wasn;t going to make that penalty, too. I said to my son, I've got a bad feeling about this. And sure enough, he flubbed it.

Wynne and Edu will be leaving for Beijing soon. This run could get a lot worse before it gets better.

And I have a hard time seeing how we're going to beat Montreal on Tuesday, which means no more champions league for us.

Mo's had nine months to find us a striker and yet we're reduced to playing a 16 year old up front. No disrespect to the lad, who played reasonably well, but this is fucking ridiculous.
