I'm starting a new job next Wednesday without actually starting a new job.

A fortnight ago I was offered a chance to go and work in our office up in Town. It would mean leaving my existing case load behind here at this office and stepping into a new case load at the other office. A new client with new colleagues and new challenges. It also means (slightly) more money.

So, I've spent the morning re-allocating my cases amongst my colleagues and I won't start working on my new files until I'm up in London, which means that for the next few days I'll have relatively little to do.

All very exciting and liberating. Feels like a new phase in my life in many different ways.

Of course the real bonus is the possibility of much more London based OTFathon action! WooHoo!

This is great news, GT - particularly on the social and fiscal fronts. Are you going to relocate too, or will you just put up with a longer commute in the morning?

(You at SB on Saturday, btw?)

Clive, believe it or not, it's actually a shorter commute! I'm actually thinking of selling my car - do you know anyone who may want to buy a J reg 900 convertible?

Thanks for the good wishes. No, I'm afraid I'm at a party where there'll be LOADS of hot chicks!!!!(although the music may be rubbish)

I'll have your car! Does it matter that I can't drive? I bet it does, doesn't it!

I love it when people call London 'town'. I do it all the time as well. IS it a Northern thing?

Not particularly, I think. Alot of my friends do it who are very Southern (though not the posh variety).

I say it all the time, but then I've only just moved here from a tiny, blot-on-the-landscape village in the far North West.

Plus it amuses the Mrs, so, you know....
