Lou Reed re-recorded a lot of Velvet Underground tracks on his early solo albums. I'm not blaming him for trying to reach a wider audience, but every single one of them was worse than the original.

Until a few days I didn't know that the Isley Brothers recorded Who's That Lady, which I knew as a '70s soul track, previously in 1964.

That's a good shout re: the Wailers. You can also apply that to "Satisfy My Soul", "Sun Is Shining" and quite a few others.

"The Tide Is High" is a shining example for me.
